Ok, I know I've been flooding the boards with gauge questions, but I think this is the last one. So I have the Innovate MTX-D water temp gauge, and I intended to use it to monitor the coolant temp for the S/C, thinking the thermistor was just a small prob I could slide into the low temp radiator fins. Well, the thermistor is threaded and much larger than the temp probe I expected. Trying to achieve the same result, can I drill a hole in the side of the s/c coolant reservoir and thread this in with some thread tape? My worry is that the plastic reservoir and brass (I think) thermistor will expand at different rates causing a leak. Monitoring this way helps me two fold. 1) if the temp spikes I know something is up (pump isn't running), and 2) if the reading disappears I know the coolant has dropped below the level of the thermistor and I'm leaking coolant.
