whats the best oil for an X?

so im coming up on the first oil change for my X. what is the preferred oil everyone is using? whats the brand and what is the thickness (ie 5w30, 10w40, etc..)

I use mobil 1 5w30. Any good synthetic is what I would recommend, it comes down to how much you wanna spend and personal choice of brands.

no you don't really need synthetic...but its better protection for your engine

bought some, haven't put it in yet. I waiting for the next oil change.
I did however put amsoil in the diff and tranny and I like so far :top:

yeah, i noticed a difference. need to get a new amsoil oil filter though. have an autozone special. i have amsoil in the diff but RP in the tranny. going to change it out to amsoil once of these days.

SS Amsoil 0W-30 is some awesome stuff. Went 13k on my last oil change.

wow 13k is a long time between oil changes. thats pretty nuts if the oil could actualy handle it. i think im gonna go with the 5w30 full synthetic. has anyone ever ran something thicker like a 10w40?
