TPMS sensor

So I was wondering is there anything other than the obvious of pushing the button under the dash for the TPMS that I would have to do in order not to mess anything up or do you just push it and it resets?

To reset the pressure monitor i believe you just turn your key to access and hold it in for a few seconds till it flashes if i remember correctly. .it does say in the manual how to reset it

Make sure you get the spare too, it has a sensor in it as well

I don't have a manual for my truck, so sorry If I ever ask very obvious questions.

Aight cool, the spare is the only one I haven't checked yet so that's probably why it hasn't gone off yet.

Well I checked the spare and it was 6 lbs low so I filled it and the tpms light is still on. So my question is by pressing the reset button will that turn it off?

To use the button you have to make sure you have proper air pressure in all tires (including spare). Then put the key in and turn to the ON position and press and hold the button.
It should blink three times after a few seconds. Once it blinks three times, you are done.

You really shouldn't need to reset your TPMS system unless you changed a TPMS sensor or ECU or something major.

If all is normal, the light should turn off on it's own after a while... just make sure all your tire pressures are in spec (including spare). Note that the light comes on if you have too much pressure as well.

I had too many problems with the tpms sensors so I just removed it when I did my gauge cluster color change lol..never flashes now haha

All the tires should be good, I checked all 4 yesterday and the spare this morning (didn't know there was a sensor in it) and it was low out I put air in it according to the data plate that's located on the driver side door jam and the damned thing is still on. It's not a huge issue but it's just annoying.

u may have a bad tpms sensor...i noe its common for tpms sensors to go out...i changed many on toyotas at the shop...if u can, take it to a shop and check if they can scan ur ecu for tpms codes...u have one or more no good

Is it on or does it flash at first? If its flashing there is a problem with a sensor or the system. Need the toyota scan tool to check for a fault in the TPMS. Mine flashes because some jack hole stole my spare so it registers no signal fault from the missing sensor.

i had the same problem because i was a dumb and left my spare in hawaii. Got a new one and filled them up to 35 lbs drove it for a little and it turned off.

A constant flash for 1 minute tells you it's a system fault (either a bad sensor or sensor out of range).

It's a constant flash the whole time the vehicle is on. Which is why I initially thought I had a low tire but it's not the case.

Mine flashes all the time right now. My tires are in the basement though and my snows are on lol

You may be able to get a replacement sensor elsewhere. When I got my current set of tires at Costco, I noticed they sold replacement sensors (and the guy at the desk said they had the ones for my Tacoma).

Nope it constantly flashes, probably gonna take it to discount tomorrow and see if they can figure it out.
