I'm nearing the end of my black headlight mod, and with the exception of breaking a clip due to stupidity, everything has gone great. I exoxied the clip back on - so no worries there.

I'm curious for those that have done it - light covers or none? Submit your opinion via the poll. Keep in mind, everything goes back together in an hour once the paint has cured enough.

Well shiz. I moved all the paint stuff out of the garage (single car) so that I could pull the truck back in and prepare to start reassembling. I decided after all the coats were done to flip the bevels over and make sure I got the edges good. When I flipped them back over to bring them inside... chips in the paint. Looks like another hour, and 2-3 more touch-up coats before I get to start putting things back together.

That paint should cure up real nice outside in the 33 degree weather. Especially since the can says it's best to paint between 50 & 80 degrees.

i think it looks funny without any reflectors in it, i left mine all in, makes it look more like it came from the OEM that way :)

I left the running light lens out. The turn signal lens looks almost clear and with black behind it anyway, it is not noticeable. When you signal, it diffuses the light as it needs to do.

I painted the back of the corner lens (the darker one) and snapped it back in. That way you don't see the holes where the lens went.

If Im not mistaken, its a law in Louisiana that you must have reflectors , front and rear.

I don't know if it's a law in Virginia. But I doubt they would pull me over for a lack of reflectors when I'm not running a front license plate (which is a law in VA). I hope I don't find out either way.

i think the blacked out headlights look super sick without the reflectors/turn signal covers...sick enough to do re-do my head lights again. its all personal preference but on BSP its :top:
