Black Scoop Mod

Well basically you open the hood, and there are 6 screws. 5 bigs ones and 1 small one, unscrew them, make sure they dont fall down the support framing, and take off the hood scoop front lower piece. Sand it a bit, and paint that sucker. I cleared mine, looks better, trust me. With the black headlight mod and a black grille, it looks pretty nice. It's not over bearing because most people dont even notice it at first. In fact mine has been black for 4 months and just the other day my friend noticed it and complimented it. hmm i sanded it down, then i used 3 coats of gloss black krylon fusion and then 2 coats of clear. :top:

why not try the vinyl as u said u can take it right off if it looks tarded...i would paint mine black to ..but :laugh:

ya kno before i did it, i was pretty sketch about it, but now whenever i see the scoop with it paint matched i just kinda double take a bit, cause with the black headlights and emblem it blends pretty well. I dunno im usually pretty harsh on my truck and how it looks. :dontknow:

Well to let you know, I love it and wanna do it to my RR xr.
I posted on the CT forum when it first showed up and got photoshops of it on a red one and everything. Just need some time home to get it done.

Be sure to post a pic of it. I will try to get my friend to do his hood scoop mod and the same time present it to mine. Since his truck is Black :biggrin: but will take me atleast 6 weeks before I can do anything.
