Well i was just pulling up the driveway and my drivers side lower control arm snapped. here all the pictures. now it looks like it was corroding for a around the weld so here are some pics....i will post up pics next weekend when i get it in the driveway and get these off an put the stock ones on. but i would suggest everyone look at their control arms to see if there are any hairline fractures. Believe me if this would of happened on my commute going 70 the truck prob would of flipped on me.

It looks like to much heat on the weld, it cristalized the surounding steel. Definitely manufacturing defect

Damn, having just gone DJM - this is certainly concerning. Like you said, if that had happened at speed the result would have been very bad indeed. I have noticed surface rust already on some of the DJM parts and am pretty sure that during the winter months I'm going to pull all the parts and have them blasted and powder coated.

I'm going to sticky this thread - at least until we hear from DJM and/or DJM Direct.

Make sure to get more pics from different angles once you get it jacked up. Also, would LOVE to hear a response from DJM (especially directly here on the forum - but at least post what they say).

I haven't checked the front arms but the rear C-Notch definitely has surface rust in some spots where the coating is flaking (below is the only pic I took - there are other places that are slightly larger). I did buy the kit used - but it was never installed. It literally sat in the box for 18 months before it made its way to me. But I was surprised as well that the coating was already failing. I know that its minor at this point but it makes you wonder what it will look like in a few years.

OP - how long was your kit installed before this failure?
