My wife is out of town for the weekend, so I took the opporunity to do my BHLM (Black Headlight Mod). DOGO wanted to see some pics so here we go.
Sorry about the quality, I had changed some settings on my camera and forgot to set them back - and my wife has my good camera in Florida. Since its 28 degrees outside, I'm not reshooting the pics. Also, no tire black.... it's just too damn cold. And yes, that is your fearless leaders modest Virginia home in the background.
All in all, the mod wasn't that bad. It took me a total of 9 hours from start to finish - which does seem WAY longer than most people. But I did break for lunch and dinner and also did six coats of paint (followed be three more coats to touch up some chipping). I take my time on projects like this also because as I've said before, I'm a graphic designer/web developer.... not a mechanic. But I'm also a DIY'er so I love doing projects like this.
For those of you that are intimidated to do it --- do it. It's not THAT bad. I will be adding some additions onto the BHLM Write-Up here at XR-U to help some of those that are uncomfortable with car projects. I've got more pictures and some advice for first timers. So look for that update in the next couple days.
