I've noticed that my tires are starting to get a layer of old tire shine on them. You know you put tire shine on the tires but after awhile dirt and debris sticks to them but another coat goes over it and so forth. How do you guys get those layers off so I have nothing on the tire? I tried scrubbing but it only gets off so much and the rest it just smears the gunk.

I use Hi-Temp's APC. Diluted it 5:1. Wet the tires/wheels, spray it on, let it sit for a bit and start scrubbing the tires with a good brush. For the wheels I usually use a soft sponge that won't scratch the finish to clean off the brake duest/road crap.

I found a wire brush works great. Non-wire brushes just didn't seem to have the abrasion that a wire brush did. It cleaned the tire off easily:top:

I just grab a small spray bottle and mix some dish washing soap with water and then spray that on the rims and tires prior to washing them. Let them sit for a couple minutes and use a brush to get the old crap off and rinse off the loosened brake dust/dirt from the rims

I pressure wash mine, usually works well. If not I rub it with soapy water then pressure wash again.
