I had my for about a week and was going down the interstate when 3 young guys in an 80's model celica that was riced out got beside me and started revving and took off. I never tryed racing them but they slowed down and got in front of me and they were all giving thumbs up and grinning from ear to ear...

Im always getting asked if its a dodge or chevy, and if it has a V8

I always get, "Is that a Dakota?" They don't believe me when I say its a Tacoma. I don't even bother explaining the whole X-Runner bit.

I stopped to get some beer at the liquor store on my way home from work and while I was in the store a guy came in and asked who's black truck was sitting out front. I thought someone hit my truck or something. I said,"mine", he said, "that truck is f'n sweet" and left. Everyone in the store then looked out the window at it. I was feeling so proud I couldn't stop smiling.

Its a great feeling to own one of these. I'm sure you all agree.

i get asked almost weekly.

mostly by nissan frontier owners at gas stations.

earlier this week a guy (mid 20's estimated) was looking my truck over as i got out of the gym. started asking me all these questions about who makes it, how much, if the wheels/headlights come like that, etc... made me smile:)

Most people can't believe its a Toyota.
Today, Richard (SWB X) Michael (WSHSBEASRS) and I were driving all over the place (Pics soon in a new thread). We stopped to get gas, and a group of crotch rockets pulled in to the gas station (about 15 of them)...
As we were pulling out, one of them said "Oh look, they look like triplets" LOL

I was cruising around the other day and got pulled over by a cop. He didn't ask for my lisence or anything he just started asking me a bunch of questions about my truck and telling me how nice he thought it was.

I get compliments at least once a week from kids I have just met on campus. Two of my bosses asked me about it this week at work, and two kids I met in class. I feel pretty pimp when I get those comments.

I've had multiple guys at gas stations say "Dood, nice truck." Or,"man I really like that... nice." Along with plenty of thumbs up for people and I even had one dood wave to me one day like I was his bro or something. I love all the attention the truck gets - cause I know it ain't my pretty looks.

Same thing happened to me back when I had my 66 SS Impala.

As far as my truck goes I always get "is that a colorado?"
One time I had a guy in a black XR flag me down and pulled me over just to check out my truck. That was before this site existed but I did tell him about CT. I don't think he ever showed up.

In AZ people are way into trucks...big trucks & esp. 4wd trucks. Probably 1 in 1000 is lowered, if that. However I have had everyone from teenage guys to middle age women admire the truck (no cute college girls tho). One day the mgr. of the local Lowes came out to help me load something into the truck. Not only did he actually know it was a Tacoma, but he went ape over the truck. I think next to me, he loves my truck the most. Unfortunately, unlike XRobber, I have never had all sorts of young girls hanging out around my truck. I'd probably have to put up a sign saying, "FREE MONEY" for that to happen.
