Those of you with satellite radio which do you have? Any particular reason why you chose it? Any likes or dislikes with the one you have? Which hardware do you run?

I have XM using the Pioneer XM tuner box going into the AVIC-N1. I chose XM bc my headunit was XM ready and I wanted to control the satellite radio through the head unit. Plus I got a deal on XM back then.

I have Sirius, I like it. I think the only thing that bugs me is going over thing so that I lose signal. Oh and the fast that after I had my windshield replaced I can get the recever to stay on the window. Keeps falling off. But this more then likely user head space and timing.

I have had both and I love sirius. I drive semis for a living and I don't get any signal loss. Maybe its my $60 mushroom antenna.

My Dad just got Sirius and I notice he gets frequent signal loss with it in areas where the XM works fine.

We do have Sirius. It's just that it only catches way out by Kaena point. It catches from the satellites over the West Coast of the US. So technically we have it but don't. We will have HD radio in the next 2 1/2 months though. I can guarentee that. :top:

Yeah totally doesn't make any sense at all. HD radio is free radio through your car radio. Pretty much by the end of the year all local radio stations will be broadcasting in HD. So all radio on the FM dial will sound CD quality and all AM stations will sound like current FM stations. Plus each station will have 9 or more stations branched off of it.

IE: Star 101.9 - Basic Station (Alternative)

Star 101.9 A - HD Station (Punk Rock)

Star 101.9 B - HD Stations (Heavy Metal)

It basically goes on and on till all 9 + slots are filled.

So when you are scrolling through the channels in your car it will say 101.9A, 101.9B, etc etc?

HD radio sounds exciting. For a while i lost interest in the radio completely

The radio has to be an HD radio. There will be some sort of button or dial on it. The button or dial will had either "A,B,C,D,..." on it or "1,2,3,4,..." on it. So all you have to do is tune into 101.9 on the radio...and then press the button or turn the dial to choose the station. Also if you radio is Text ready...which I think the XR are...when you are listening to the radio (any station) it will scroll the artist name and song title on the radio. I know that the XR arn't HD ready so you might have to go get an HD radio. If you wanna keep it stock though...the regular stations that you stock radio picks up will still broadcast the info on the text.

X2 on the sirius.

I had XM before in my other car, and the signal was fifty times better!

as much as i love satellite radio, neither of them play the artists that i listen to.

so i can't justify the original purchase and the monthly fee for something that CD's do for me (commercial free music and exactly what i want to listen to):dontknow:
