Dumb Dealers

I've been looking for an XRunner for a while and I've been calling dealers to see if they have any in stock that I can look at. So I call one place and the guy didn't even know what an XRunner was... he kept telling me "Naw man naw, its the 4Runner, I don't know any XRunner man"

So I find a place that says they have one and when I go to see it over at Toyota Universe in Jersey... no one there knows what an XRunner is either. The guy brings me outside, and tries telling me that the SRunner is an XRunner. I have to tell him that its not, and then he tries selling me on double cabs and Xtra cab prerunners.

I'd say that 80% of the places I called the sales people did not even know what an XRunner was.

HOW DO YOU WORK FOR TOYOTA AND SELL THEIR CARS AND NOT KNOW EVERY MODEL THEY MAKE

I don't know if it's because Im a kid and they don't want to be bothered or what, but its really annoying

anyway, I was just looking to see if anyone else has had similar problems

I stopped at the dealer today to get an airfilter (because no part stores have them) and had a sales guy looking at my truck and asked me when they started selling single cab X Runners. I gave him the ole shoulder shrug and said I don't know:dontknow: and then walked away. I figured if he works for toyota and has to ask this, then it wasn't worth my time explaining my truck to him. Freakin idiots.:stupid:

I took my XR in for servicing and a sales rep came over and said, "Where did you get your Black Headlights from?" I told him that I flew to Japan to get them.:bird: He asked how much they were. I told him that they were about $700 american. He said he wanted to get some. I told him he totally should! They make the Tacomas look unique! I don't believe he actually believed what I said! So now I guess he is trying to find them online.

Must be those East Coast dealers...Every dealership i have EVER been too (including the one i worked at as a dealer ((Toyota of Santa Barbara)) ) knew everything there was to know about the X, in fact i went and looked at on 07 today, just to see the difference between it and my 05. Salesman knew exactly what he was talking about.:top:

WHOA! Easy Fella, just a lil joke.....I know all about the "bait and switch", it is used ALL too often. Good to know that K.P. does not allow that, it's how it should be.

All the Toyota dealerships here in Hawaii are owned by Servco. And all on them really didn't know much about the XR. I kept inquiring about them and he would say that it's abou the same as this Tacoma...where he would proceed to show me a crew cap tacoma. I kept telling him I want the XR. So he went in and came back out and gave me the Tacoma booklet and said here is all the info. He then left me and went to someone else. :bird:

We went to see the RR and the dealer was great. They new what they were talking about and after alot of talking and a test drive, it turns out that they are getting a new 06 bsp in within the next few days so......we put down a deposit! ::biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin: :driver: :driver: :driver: :burnout: :burnout:

Wow! Lucky you got a test drive. Servco in Hawaii told me no test drives cause all the trucks that were brought in were spoken for. I asked if they had one for just solely test driving and they said no.
