Give me the brand of oil and oil filter you use. Give me data on why you use it; not just your opinion. I want data, cause opinions mean nothing next to numbers!!!

Valvoline seni synth and purolator filters. Purolator has one of the best constructed filters on the market(and the price is the same as fram crap). If the oil can let my old 230k mile Ranger run and have zero problems, it's good enough for me.

I use the toyo filter.. when i had my 3000gt i made the mistake of not using a factory filter it the engine had terrible lifter tick.. asked some other 3000 owners and thats when they advised me that factory filters give you the correct pressure needed to get the oil to the top of the motor.. so i have always stuck with factor filters since.

I use the Toyota oil filter on mine. If you cut one open they are constructed very well inside and are not made of really cheap materials like the Fram are which have cardboard inside that deteriorates. The price on them is pretty inexpensive too. As far as oil I've always used Mobil One. True synthetic oil that have kept my engines looking new inside with no sludge build up under the valve covers of my old TA.

Don't believe it? Type in mobil 1 comparison tests or amsoil comparison tests on google and the same thing (data comparison charts) will pop up.

As for oil filter ill just stick with the OEM for now

I run mobil 1,

original equipment/specifically recommended for

BMW
Porsche
Viper
Corvette
TVR
just to name a few.

good enough for me.

and as far as oil filters.

from what I have seen, the factory Toyota oil filter is one of the nicest I have seen.

On my first oil change, I got a Purolator PureONE (there top brand) which are really nice, and when I looked inside my old toyota and my new purolator, the toyota one had A LOT more filter pleats and looked a lot stronger.

so toyota oil filters for me.

plus there black, which matchest my truck

I use only Toyota filters not only do they have a check valve which holds the oil in the filter definitely good for start ups but it also has a built in pressure relief valve (by pass valve) just in case for some reason the filter gets stopped up, also use Castrol 20W50 which I have used for over 20 years now and vehicles over 100s of thousands of miles and have had really good luck with it.

All the major oil companies have recently changed oil formulas including Mobil 1. It is the new SM designation on the label. What this means is they have taken out the zinc (ZDDP) and replaced it with boron. They did this because of the EPA and tree huggers (polution, ozone, whatever). Boron is not as good as zinc for metal to metal wear.

I still use Mobil 1 but I add a little (1oz) GM E.O.S (assembly lube) to it every oil change for the ZDDP. The Porsche guys have been doing this in their air cooled engines since the SM change.

Royal purple, Amsoil, Brad Penn, still have ZDDP. The best is Amsoil & Mobil1 motorcycle oil (very expensive) but they do increase H.P. by quite a bit. On a 1700cc VW engine it was an increase of 15 hp on the dyno.

I thought with my dipstick and use Castrol Edge, but I have to go to Walmart in Washington state, to get it, because it's not available in Canada and even if it was it would be 5x the price.

I use TRD filter pn# : PTR43-00080.

I just changed my oil for the 2nd time last weekend, also first time i've used synthetic oil in this engine. Next is the differentials to go on synthetic.
