Ya, same here. I avoid the dealership at all costs. And will avoid it more and more after my experience with the frame swap.

I haven't done any recalls on my truck. I own it and try to determine which ones I feel are important and when I really want the dealership screwing with my truck. I really do need to get the seat belt recall done though; kind of an important one there.

im in the same boat, but i never had a problem with the gas pedal on both trucks but just did them anyways but when i do go for a recall i make sure i kno someone i can depend on thats working at that dealer and most of the times im watching them work on my truck not waiting in the waiting room. i figure ill just get some recall done on the truck but hey @ 243k no recall have been done and the frame looks way better than my gray one .. im impressed

No fun when you can't press the gas and the brake at the same time. No heel toe. No burnouts. No fun. Now that you have the pedal recall done :(

Yep, class action lawsuit is still going. I got a notice in the mail today. It says to go here: http://www.toyotaframesettlement.com/
I havent had any out of pocket expenses in fixing or replacing the frame. Local dealer looked up my VIN and said it was previously inspected and passed.

Dropped my 06 X-Runner off at the dealer yesterday for frame replacement, hoping they don't mess it up too much. Should be a week to 10 days to see how it turns out. Toyota Canada approved full frame replacement in July and it just got here a couple weeks ago. If it doesn't turn out well I may sell in the spring, otherwise I should be good for another 10 years ;)

Complete replacement and over a month later without any issues. My cost was $276 Canadian, Toyota Canada paid over $14,000. New rear leaf springs and shocks, upper and lower front control arms included, all brake lines, hardware. I only had to pay for maintenance items ( Coolant flush and fill, etc). Overall very pleased and hope to get another ten years out of it! Once all the salt is off the roads I will wash and undercoat it inside and out. Gotta make it last !

I'm glad I saw this thread.
I've slowly been building my '05 and received the latest and greatest update to the frame recall.
It is now ALL Tacomas from 2005 - 2010!
No questions asked UNTIL JANUARY 31, 2019
It is not a question of "if" or "batch" or "trim".
EVERY TACOMA!
Just know that the stealerships are going to try and make money any way possible. I was quoted over 2000 bucks so they can remove the MKI URD Blower/TMIC, Stage 3 Snow kit, traction bars, pretty much everything aftermarket to give me my "free" frame.
If you plan on keeping your truck and you fall between these years, get a frame! Especially if you're stock.
Just know it could be up to a 10 week lead time for our frames. Good luck folks!

They must not cowboy it like my dealership did. My dealer chained the engine and trans to the cab and front clip and dropped the frame out from underneath. I had the TRD S/C installed at the time and they didn't have to touch it.

I don't know how they will approach it, but I'm sure they're more comfortable working around TRD's supercharger.

I've heard the exact opposite. My truck is better than new AND I don't have a messy undercoat sprayed all over the underside of my hood.....

You don’t use get a new frame just because you got a letter. They inspect it. If they don’t find a hole they offer to spray it.
