Are you going to be amping them? If so I would consider re-wiring since the stock wire gauge is a little on the weak side for running good powered amped components. For the best performance and sound I recommend upgrading the speaker wire to a thicker gauge wire.

Save yourself $30 and make them yourself out of MDF. I made these myself for less than $10. Not the best but will do untill I learn how to glass. You'll need Dynamat the crap out of these doors too.

I have the single din dash kit from Scosche. No problems here. As far as speakers in my doors, I made the adapters instead of buying from Taco Tunes. I have Infinity Components set-up in my doors and they sound great.

Initially when I bout the XR, I purchased their DD dash kit and the 6.5 frint adapters(I had some 6.5 separates and a DD head unit from my previous truck). TacoTunes delivered within a few days, no problem. Later I purchased some rear 6.5 speakers and prior to obtaining the Xtreme Kreations door-sub panels, I made my own MDF adapters (for under the door panel, stock location). All you need is to measure the stock speaker base and place your new speaker template centered in the new blank you made. Then use a jigsaw/router or dremel to cut and shape it. It does not have to be pretty, it's hidden. You cabn usually buy the MDF in a half or quarter sheet for around $4-6. Depending on the height of your speaker, try and get it close to the door panel. I ended up using 1/2".

I ordered some ebay specal plastic speaker adaptors that do not work with the speakers I got and I can't cut them to fit (they dont have enough area ont eh mounting surface). The mounting diameters on diamonds are a little on the high side. D661i are 5.8inches, and the Hex S600s are 5.35inches. I want to go about and make some adaptors or should I just order some wood ones and cut them to fit? What I am worried about is being able to mount a 3/4 MDF adaptor with the factory screws. What have you guys done to mount the self made adaptors to the stock location?
