I went to the New Toyota Dealer ship last weekend in Chandler, Az and they didn't have any Xrunners the sales person their told me I had to put a grand so they could order one so I was wondering if anyone here had to do the same?

It's not just you, dealerships will do that so they know they have a solid buyer, and not ordering a truck that will just sit on the lot for months.:top:

i never had a dealer ask for a down payment for any car to order..they can always sell it or trade it with another dealer.

They told me that there were no xRunners at all in Arizona so I had to order straight from the Manufature thats why they want the grand

If they wanna make a sale..they should give you no problem ordering it for you without any money down.

Im in NC, my 06 was on a lot in GA. Only 06 left in the SE and I wanted the 3.9% financing. Negotiated a deal with the dealer here and they made a swap for it. They required a $500 deposit to get it.
So I gave them my visa. They never ran the card. It more or less turned out that they were happy with my show of good faith.

Doesn't really make sense. When I passed by Servco Lot today, there were the load of X-Runners and Tacomas sitting on the lot. If you ever want to go to Tacoma heaven just go there:laugh:

Which lot? I guess now it might be different. When I got my '05...there were never any on the lot that were just for sale. They were all spoken for. Did you also have to order? Or did you just buy it off the lot? Also how much was your down payment if you had one?

The lady we dealt with was really nice. There wasn't really any negotiating with them since at the time, the trucks were VERY rare. If I didn't buy it, they could have sold it to the next person who walked in.

The other dealership telling you "there isn't one in all of AZ is feeding you BS. I worked at Larry Miller and theyve probably got one waiting for you, if not i can set you up with a guy who will get you taken care of.

Check with Tempe Toyota. I'm here in Gilbert, some guy stopped me at the store the other night to talk about my COOL truck. Said there was one there. He worked there.

Ship musta came in. I was at Toyota City a few weeks ago and i saw only one SWB on the lot. I guess we will have alot more X's on Oahu's roads soon..
