Ok so I finally found a set of rims that I like but I'm not sure on the sizes to get. I know I want 19's and I was thinking on doing a staggered set-up so would like a 19x8 or 19x8.5 work in the front and a 19x9.5 or 19x10.5 for the back:dontknow: . And also what off set would I need since the rims are wider then the stockers, I know that you all have said that the offset is something like +30 or +35 so would that work. Please help me, thanks guys.

This was a reply I gave over on CT a while back for someone asking about offsets. Read this and see if it helps you out. I will try to answer any questions you have.

Okay let me see if I can explain this so you can understand how I got my numbers. The stock wheel is 8" wide with a +30mm offset. There is 25.4 mm in one inch. So here we go.
Stock
8 x 25.4 = 203.2mm
Divde that by 2 to find centerline of wheel.
203.2mm / 2 = 101.6mm
Take the centerline and add offset
101.6 + 30 = 131.6
Take that number and subtract it from the wheel width
203.2mm - 131.6mm = 71mm
71mm is how much wheel is past the lug mounting surface of the rotor.

Now do the same for the 8.5 with + 38 offset
8.5 x 25.4 = 215.9
215.9 / 2 = 107.95
107.95 + 38 = 145.95
215.9 - 145.95 = 69mm
69mm is how much wheel is past the lug mounting surface of the rotor.

now the 10 with +48 offset
10 x 25.4 = 254
254 / 2 = 127
127 + 48 = 175
254 - 175 = 79
79mm is how much wheel is past the lug mounting surface of the rotor.

So as you can see the outside lip( face of the wheel) on the 20x8.5 are actually going to be 2 mm more inward towards the truck. The 20 x10 are going to be 8mm (about 1/3 of an inch) more outward towards the fender. All the extra width on these sizes are going to be on the inside of the wheel. So if you want to have the wheels closer to the fenders get a lower offset and redue the above calculations. Hope this helps. This is what I did to firgure out if 18 x 9.5 with a +35mm offset would fit my truck and It worked for me.

so by that math, the wheels that i want to get will be 97mm (or ~3.8") past the rotor in the rear and 84.3mm (or ~3.3") past the rotor in the front

so stock is 71mm (or ~2.8") past... so the wheels would stick out .5" more on the front and 1" more on rear.

18x9 +30 Front
18x10 +30 Rear

If you go anything more than 1/2" out you will find out how much a new paint job costs and the sides of your truck will be forever dirty. Try and keep the wheel within a half inch of offset outward. The wheel may look good standing next to the truck but stand in front and squat down, see how much it is past the bodywork already? Then add to it and everything yo drive through will end up on the side of the truck, you will want to get mudflaps!

you need a higher offset............ especially that low.

pick the width, and ill tell you what offset you should run......

for example my 20x9 with a 32mm offset is absolutely as far as you can go out and tuck the tires.........

i would go with a 30-35 offset up front, and an offset in the 40's for the rear, what is available?

Size............Offsets
18 x 9.0.......20/30/38/43
18 x 10.0.....18/38

those are the offset options. i want 18x9 in the front and 18x10 in the rear.

i guess i was mistaken in that the 10" wide wheel was not a +30 offset:p

how low you planning on going? that 10 inch wheel will stick out past the fender.

that will stick out .5 farther than my rear rims, and my fender flares are cut as far i can. get ready for a little......

but worse:biggrin:

only dropping ~2" with the C2C kit and since i'm not going up in size, just width, i shouldn't have to cut anything.

ahh i remember now. as long as the tire doesnt have to go past the bottom of the fender flare, you will have no issues. i dont remember, but i dont think the tire will come in contact with the fenders without a notch anyways ( assuming stock tire OD)

so would the +38 offset work for both front and rear? or would i want to do a +30 in the front and +38 in the rear?

Go less offset for a deeper lip, but the wheel will stick out further. I wonder if I should make wider flares.:hmmmm2: Widebody X?

If I want to stick with stock size tires, but replace the rims with new 18x8's, what offsets are okay?

I undertand that the stock rim size is 18x8 with a 30mm offset, correct?

These are the rims I'd like to buy:

konsid.large.jpg

Konig "Sideways"
They are made in 18x8 with a 40mm offset, but whenever I go to discounttire.com or something similar, this size is not "allowed" for my vehicle... instead it suggests an 18x7.5 with a 45mm offset.

What gives? :dontknow: Will this rim fit on my truck?
