Okay - I think I had one of the first if not the first blown engine...

Michael (WSHSBEARS) has apparently blown the first Radiator.
Toyota will not cover it, they say it is not a manufacturer defect.
Michael is buying a new radiator and we will install it this weekend.

note - Don't ask me what happened to the radiator. I will not say.
Toyota found my shlt on the insternet and wouldnt talk to me about warrantys - im not gonna jinx Michael.. LOL

that sucks, toyota is being a •XR•XR•XR•XR, its their product and they should cover it no matter what because its still under warrenty, toyota's serivce is gotta to be the worst i have ever dealt with. if it wasnt for their cars toyota would go down the drain

That's what the Maguson-Moss Warranty Act is for. I'm sure if it was a factory defect they would have to do so, but we don't know what the story is so we can't speculate

My feeling on this is that if the radiator had a factory defect I believe they would have warranted it, I myself have been at the same Toyota dealership for 24 years now and there is really no reason for them not to cover the radiator if it was a factory defect because they get paid the same whether or not it's warrenty or customer pay, also I have replaced many radiators and A/C condensers for pin holes due to rocks hitting them and that may be the case, Example, If I replaced the radiator under warrenty knowing that the damage was done by some kind of foreign object(rock) hitting it and causing a leak and the manufacture calls of the radiator back for inspection and to see also if they are going to have problems and they see if was something that may have hit it and caused a leak then I am liable and so is the dealership and someone else will have to pay for it and not Toyota, so until we really know what happened it's hard to say.

well the radiator is now fixed. it was a large hole in the lowest tube. jb weld and jb kwik saved me a good 300 bucks. as far as what happened, well like rob said, for warranty issues, i'd rather not say on here.
