Hit 6th gear yet in my XR lol and its about 8 miles away from 1k woot, well not exactly. Too bad you cant drive in reverse and lower your miles :laugh:

As I sit here fuming... I realized that I USED to hit 6th every day during my commute of around 12-15 miles. It used to take me around 18 minutes to get to work. Now, I live about 5 miles from my new office and it takes me 30 minutes to get to work. How F'ed up is that. I NEVER hit 6th anymore - hell I rarely hit 3rd.

I hardly ever use 6th gear. If you are going about 80 or 90 on a straight away...it actually slows you down or takes a bit longer to speed up. I just keep it in 5th and gun it!:driver: :top:

That's the point of 6th gear, It's a cruising gear, you arn't supposed to be speeding up and passing people in 6th.

My trucks basically only a four spd. 1-2-4-6. I use 3rd only when I need to smoke someone on the freeway. Cant remember the last time I shifted into 5th.

Just less shifting for me. The way the gear ratios are I only need 3rd if Im in a real big hurry to get to 100 mph.

im in 6th all of the time...poor 5th gear never gets used
