depends on what kind of music you like, rock, rap, country or all of the above. I personally like the alpine type s speakers especially if you are going to keep the factory radio. 6.5" speakers all the way around.

you should also check out Image Dynamics if you're an audiphile nut and dont feel like spending too much. They are extremely nice speakers and arent expensive.

personally its not very hard to go wrong if you stay wiht some of the tried and true brands outthere. of coarse id stick with a set of 6.5 comps up front and just forget about changing the rears unless yo uplan on going surround sound with a dvd set up. no i would recomend either the elemental designs edi6500s,or the new premier 6.5 comp set cant remember model number but they have the yellow cone. also the polk db series are pretty nice.

I have infinity component 6.5 up front with infinity tweets. Kicker 6.5's in the back and 10" RF subs.
JL 500/1 pushing the subs.
Sounds amazing.
My tweeters will make your ears bleed if you crank it up.

Yeah I was lookin on circuitcity.com and found these Polks:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Polk...73874/catOid/-13092/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I don't know too much about audio equip. so I don't really know if that's all I need or if I need to get another set for the rears. Also, what's the difference between that first link and these ones?

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Polk...73870/catOid/-13092/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

well the first link is for the component set which is what you will want. the second are a coax system not recomended in our trucks config.

i owuld recomend you stay away from anything fosgate. and some of the infinity stuff is pretty good just remember you gotta pay to play.

If you are looking to run components I HIGHLY recommend you amp them. In fact it is almost a necessity that you do otherwise it's really pointless to run them. I like Polk Audio just look at my sig:biggrin: but you want to make sure you choose the speakers that sound good to you. Go to a car audio shop and listen to some of the setups then choose the setup that sounded best to you. Don't just buy on price or third party opinion alone. From my days of doing car audio I can't count the number of times someone just bought speakers bc they were cheap or a buddy said to get them only to come back unsatisfied with how they sound in their car. Listen to the speakers before you buy.

I have some MB quart comps up front and really like them. Pushing them and 2 image dynamic 10" subs with an 800x4 avionix amp.

I've got some Alpine Type X Componenets up front. After messing around with the EQ again I got them sounding a lot better then they were before. Something worth checking out

There is no such thing as a "rock speaker" or a "rap speaker" or a "jazz speaker".
A speaker really doesn't have any magical attributes that make it conducive to reproducing a particular type of music... it either sounds right or it doesn't... with all music.

I've got Boston Acoustics up front and Polks in the back -both powered by an amp running 70 watts RMS - the polks sound a little better
