I can't actually recall anyone complaining, but even tho I like the look of my track lowered, the 2" lowering blocks in the rear create the worst ride I've ever experienced in any vehicle I've owned (and that's a lot). Every bump in the road is bone jarring. So does this bother anyone else? I'm thinking maybe people in their 20's & under just don't mind....you know, form over function.

lowering blocks do not alter the ride at all. if you are hitting the bump stops, that does. if you are on the stock bumps stops i cant believe you went longer than a week without posting about it. take off the bump stops, or get low pro ones.

Hmm, no change in spring rate or shock damping...........ride is the same UNLESS you are bottoming out. Sooooooooooo change or move your bump stops.

You can get it at Pepboys...just get the uretane bump stops and cut about 1" from them...and it will ride ALOT better..thrust me.

What if you got 9/16" bumpstops? How can I cut 1" off them? J/k! Get them short enough and you will just put them in.

I assume bumpstops are there to prevent metal to metal contact. Is that correct? Anyway I must be hitting the bumpstops all the time cuz any bump & it's hold on for dear life.

I use my truck for work, which means I always have 2-3 hundred pounds of tools & parts in it. Would that make it more likely to hit the stops? I mean it's not much more than a passenger (which I rarely have), but the weight is carried further back.

I am concerned about removing them altogether. It seems that there must be a downside. How do things change when you have your 2 dirtbikes in the back?

when i had no notch, i never once hit the frame with no stops. but, yes thats why they are there. i got a set of very lo pro stops, and have no issues (i did bottom sometimes with dirtbikes, but it wasnt violent or a big deal). 300 lbs is fairly significant for the x, its fairly soft in the back. get smaller bumps, (15 bucks), or, if you carry heavvvvvvvvvvvvyyyyyy stuff, get the notch. i can carry more payload than the truck is rated for now with out bottoming out. good luck.

Even with the low-pro bumpstops it hit from time to time. So I removed the bumpstop brackets since they lower the stops and moved the stops to the frame itself, just like on every other truck. Problem solved.

When you put people in, they are centered in the wheelbase, weight is distributed. Weight in the bed, right over the axle, drops it more. What you can do is add an air-assist bag kit. When you load up, you add air to get the ride height back. Otherwise it does not adversely effect the ride.
Check it out.... HERE

not meaning to thread jack or anything, but would shorter bumb stops on stock ride height mess with suspension like stretch it too far cuz I bottom out all the time at normal ride height and am looking for a cheap fix without notching

if you look under your car, above the rear axle on each side, attached to the frame are this black rubbery looking things. When the axle travels too far up, it hits these rubbery things (bump stops) I had the SOS urethane bump stops on and i dont know wtf they were thinking but i had to cut a good two inches so now they're about 7/8 of an inch. Before they were like 2 3/4 in....idiots. Anyway, now the ride is much better. I only bottom out when im going 80+ on a •XR•XR•XR•XR freeway.
