can we fit 10 inch wide wheels on the X? Also, will 255's fit a 10 inch wide wheel correctly? Im not too savvy when it comes to wheels and tires.

I got the stock 255's on 9.5. I think 10 would be be a little to far. It would be like the lowrider guys stretching a 155/80/13 over a 13x7.

ya im just tryin to decide between 18's or 20's and between American Racing Rebels or TSW Thruxtons. The thruxtons are either 8.5's or 10's but im not going to worry about it. I think ill just stick with either 8.5's or 9's.

not only that, but its a waste of rim. there is no need to throw the extra weight from the wider rim when the ideal rim would be aroun 8.5" for a 255 35 20 (again, it depends on the tire, but generally.......)

my 275 on my 9 inch wheel is perfectly square....just enough to able to set the wheel on the face and not hit the rim.

IMHO, for a 10in wheel youll probably want a 275 tire at least.
275mm / 25.4mm = 10.83in
for comparison 255 / 25.4 = 10.04
I love how tire sizes are a combo of inch, metric, and the wall/profile is a ratio of the width.:stupid:

I can lay my rim and tire face down and the rim is not touching the ground. It is very close. A 10" rim would definitely be out past the tire with the stock tires.

nxrunner did something that extended his wheels out a certain amount. I don't know if you're going for the actual wider wheels or just the look.

i thought you were copying morcheez?

hence, 8.5" wheel:dontknow:

that's the most likely thing i will do, but im still considering the Thruxtons in 20's i cant decide yet.

On my 18"s, I have 9.5" all the way around. I knew they would fit on the rear so I just ordered 2 to start. I put 285/40s on them(same height as stock). Even with a 2" drop it fits, dosent hit or rub. I put them on the back and purchased 2 more, put them on the front with the stock tires(why waste 4 new tires). The 255/45 fitment shows 9.5" rim as the widest and the 285/40 shows it as the narrowest fitment.

Do the math man its easy, on a 275/40/20 tire the 275 is width in millimeters, the 40 is the percentage of the width(275) and obviously the 20 is 20" diameter. Im going to run 20x10 all the way around, with either 275/40/20 or 295/35/20 since all the tires in 285/40/20 suck

You're right, I r so stupid. Must be why:

a) I wound up with 20 inch x 8.5 in American Racing Killers with 265 Nittos laced up

b) Replaced the rears with 20 inch x 10 in American Racing Killers with 295 Nittos laced up (Staggered beast)

c) This thread is from 2007 rofl
