need opinions please!!

ok, so i bought my truck in san marcos texas. the dealership is a gulf shore state dealership. they offer a 100k extended warranty on all tires as long as i had them rotated every 5k at a toyota dealership. so i went to my new dealership and here is what i was told. whoever the warranty is through(extracare i think) will pay up to $200 dollars per tire. but i have to pay for the tires up front, then be reimbursed. well, the 2 options i have for tires are the stock bridgestone potenzas, and now yokohama offers a stock tire for the xrunner. I had never heard about yokohama on stock xrs before. i asked the guy what his choice would be, and he said the yokohamas. ok, heres the dilema. They tell me the bridgestones are $317.00 a piece and the yokohamas are $303.00 a piece. i knew our stock tires were expensive,,,but daaaaayuuumm.... i'm gonna need to come up with $1,200+, then wait to be reimbursed.

ok, so here's my question. wich tires would yall get? and pros and cons are appreciated. and is the dealers price of $300+ even close to msrp,or what you've paid???:hmmmm2: sorry for the long post:dontknow:

BFG KDW2's. Awesome tires. Stock size ranges from 150-190 ea depending on where you get them.

they tell me if i want to be able to take advantage of the warranty those are my options. my truck came with bridgestones. and now they offer the yokohamas. did other ppl get other brands on their xr's from the dealership???

edit:i'm a broke azz, so if i can get a warranty discount i'm gonna take it..lol

i didnt buy the warranty as an option, i believe all the cars sold in gulf shore states have it, whether u use it or not. i may be wrong.

but i'll definately check out if i'm able to get the kdw2's... but if not, wich ones i listed would ya get rob?

edit. oh, and when you say they got them cheap,,,,how cheap?

i have well had basicaly the same warranty you have and they said if i switched brands i would still get 100 per tire .
i would go with the kdw's as well thats just my .02

if i stayed with the tires of there choice they were free but you also had to have all your service done through the dealership and it wasnt worth the cost .... i havent had to buy any tires yet since its only 3months old but when i do it will be kdw's

I dont know.. the factory potenzas I wouldn't trust to protect a baby tree in a garden. They are garbage. I got 8K miles out of them.
I dont know the Yoko's at all.

Actually that is on my second set of tires (Potenza S03's)
The KDW's are my third set.
I just hit 16,000 miles.

see, i have the prepaid service plan already, so all my services are done at dealerships. (got a really good deal on the service plan)... but they told you free??free from the "get go" or you'd be fully reimbursed? hmmm, i need to call the warranty company.

and rob, @ 30k they said "they're almost ready". so now @ 35k,they are ready. i know they're not the best grippng tires,especially in the rain, but, i've had no major issues. probably because i've never driven another x with different tires.
i'm gonna go get my warranty info rite now,brb...

So...I have the KDW2's on now.... had them on for about 2 weeks...
Friday at work, I made the beer run. When I got back, I parked my truck in the warehouse with the keys in the ignition.
Well...Low and behold... about an hour later my phone at my desk rings.... its Greg (Warehouse guy) asking where my truck went....
I knew someone was playing games with me... just didnt know who.... When I went out there, all the warehouse people were there.... but my truck wasnt...
I heard it...
Revving up
In front of the building
I waited...
It came to the back...
With the president of the company driving it...
She stops and says "I LOVE THIS TRUCK" Then takes off again.
We wait there for her, and she comes back around.
She gets out....
I get in it...
Im about to leave when She tells me to "SPin them!"
Well...
She is afterall my boss.....
AND the president of the company...

Anyhow... KDW2's leave a NASTY black patch, and they also SCREAM when you light them up

free from the get go but i had to go with the stockers and all service must be completed at the dealership every 5k miles and must not show any signs of excessive wear from things like robs sig lol ...and that my friend doesnt cut it for me. i gotta do some burnouts and act a fool i guess
