SignUp Now!Does anyone know where the best location is for an O2 bung for use with the LM-1 wide band tuner? I know it would be before the cats. I was just wondering if there is an ideal spot?
Thanks in advanced
hah...just thought the title of the thread was funny
 For naturally aspirated. I would put it as close as possible to the cylinder head.

Well with both I would still put it as close as possible to the head. No matter before the cat or after heat will "push" exhaust away as it cools. So even if there is a turbo on there I would put the bung before the turbo. I did it on my turbo Civic. One before and aft the turbo pretty close. Just from my experience. Plus too, I've only put widebands on full race NA wheere there is no exhaust restrictions (cat converters). That's what cats are, right, useless.LOLmay i ask why you think NA / FI makes a difference? also, i am curious to see the logic behind having it as close as possible. i dont think the AFR is going to change much, unless you pass it through some cat. coverters?.
Yeah.... i just did a google and appears as long as its before the cat, you will get accurate readings :top:
As the exhaust comes out, it gathers oxygen in the exhaust system. Therefore as the exhaust gets farther and farther down the system, it reads leaner. From what I understand. I don't know how much difference it makes on mild tune versus full race. When the header goes to in front of the front tire. We tried to make the location as close to the head as possible.i understand you said you want them close as possible, but you still didnt say why. an AFR gauge doesnt care how cool the gas flow is, to my knowledge.

This is what I was told and I just do it like that, cause I haven't had a problem yet. Basically theories I've heard.
