So I have been working with slickanddirtymotorsports.com and they are making me a custom coilover upper bracket that will fit the 05-2015 5lug tacoma Xrunner.

So far I have put together a coilover kit that should get about 2" of drop. I will know once I get all the parts and test it out. You could possibly get more drop out of them with a shorter 10 in spring, but you will not be running in the optimal ride height of the shock.

If anyone is interested here is what I put together

$165 slick and dirty coilover brackets w/$15 shipping(they will have them up on there site when they are completed for)
$140 eibach springs 12" 2.5 id 550ppi $70 each
$343.94 QA1 Proma Star Single Adjustable Coilover 171.97each
$32.97 QA1 thrust bearing kit
$21.97 QA1 wrench kit
$60 shipping cause I live in Hawaii

Total $637.88

All parts were brought from Summit Racing and were here in 4 days.

This should be comparable to the XII performance coilover kit. Everything should be the same except for the top mount.

This is not to knock on XII, as they currently are out of stock. This is merely an available alternative with a more attractive price. I am sure there set is as good or better than going this route.

This was the preliminary design.

I am just waiting for the upper bracket to come in, I will post pics of how they fit on the truck when the upper is in.

I will also need to make a brake line bracket. I will post pics of that also.

Good information. Thank you for sharing it with us. If you have trouble with bumpsteer after your drop I can offer some advise on correcting it.

This is very interesting.... I have a pre runner and have been trying to find some solid coilovers.... Any ability to keep stock ride height? I actually don't want to lower I just want some performance, street-oriented coilovers in it.

Edit: damn I'm 6 lug....nvm

These should be able to keep stock height.
There is also the possibility to use a shorter spring 10” to even get lower than 2 inches of drop.

I will measure the highest and lowest they will go when I get the brackets.
