Has anyone heard of the drug DMT? Needless to say im not into drugs, but ive heard about it and sounds pretty interesting. Not that im going to do it, but the concepts that surround it are kind of mind numbing.

Isn’t it the one that releases the chemical that is released when you die? If that's the one you're talking about then Yeah I've heard of it. They use it a lot up in Humboldt, my buddy goes to school there and he said that it's fvcked some people up. He told me that you can totally tell who's done and who hasn't by the way they walk around after words.

DMT is inactive orally at dosages of over 1000mg. With intramuscular injection, there is an abrupt threshold of activity shown with 30mg, and a complete psychedelic experience results from the administration of 50-70mg (75mg subcutaneously, 30mg by inhalation). An unusual feature of the induced intoxication is the speed of onset and short duration. Within 5 minutes of administration there is mydriasis [dilated pupils], tachycardia [rapid heart beat], a measurable increase in blood pressure, and related vegetative disturbances which usually persist througout the drug experience. In 10-15 minutes, the full intoxication is realized, generally characterized by hallucinations with the eyes either open or closed, and extensive movement within the visual field. There is difficulty in the expression of one's thoughts, and in concentration on a given subject. There is usually a mood change to the euphoric with unmotivated laughter, but instances have been reported in which paranoid ideation has promoted anxieties and feelings of forboding into a state of panic. The subject is largely symptom-free at 60 minutes, although some residual effects have been seen in the second hour. With the inhalation route of administration the time scale is contracted, with onset of effects noted in 10 seconds, a short period of full intoxication at 2-3 minute, and a complete freedom from any residual effects within 10 minutes. At higher drug levels, there are increased vegetative symptoms, and these effectively overwhelm the psychedelic experience at dosages of 150mg i.m. Interactions with other drugs are rarely seen; a sensitivity has been observed with pretreatment with methlysergide, but there is no cross-tolerance with LSD. Repeated usage does not appear to lead to either physical or psychological dependency.

i got curious and googled it

"...advanced the theory that a massive release of DMT from the pineal gland prior to death or near death was the cause of the near death experience (NDE) phenomenon."

"...Several subjects also reported contact with 'other beings', alien like, insectoid and reptillian in nature, in technological environments[5] where the subjects were 'probed', 'tested' and sometimes even 'manipulated' by these 'beings' "

wow lol

I will say this. I've been in law enforcement for seven years now. And working in Arizona we get drug users of every kind. Most every state in this country including Canada sends there trainees out to the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office to be trained. I've collected duty patches from all over the place. I've also seen alot of things, I saw a man on PCP rip a b@ll out and stomp on it with no pain for two days. When he came to he remembered nothing. I've had to fight for my life on three different occasions and saved two other officers lives, due to people being on different drugs.

Drugs of all kind suck....

while i do agree that many drugs (PCP, cocaine, meth, X, heroine) do nothing but bad things to a person, i disagree when it comes to drugs like hallucinogens, such as shrooms, Peyote, LSD, DMT, marijuana etc. Coke and those other upper drugs do in fact take a tremendous toll on your body. Hallucinogens, however, even tho they say they put holes in your brain, reality is that the parts of your brain that are damaged are capable of regeneration. News to anyone...but alcohol causes permanent brain damage, more than various drugs. Not only that, but they did a study on Native Americans who had only done Peyote. They found no damage to the brain and actually found that they were more emotionally content and stable. The only negatives i can think of is the triggering of Schizophrenia, or psychosis that are onset by these drugs. These people, unfortunately, were not too smart about it. But, hey, that's Darwin's theory for ya. But honestly, i laugh when i see fat people at lunch break eating a big honkin burger sayin "ya drugs are bad." it's bloody astonishing. We might as well outlaw fatty foods, sugar, and while we're at it lets just outlaw everything. Christ sake.

Alot of what is said about drugs is true...but alot is also complete brain washed nonsense. In fact, many of the blind naysayers simply have very closed minds, which is fine, if they choose to live that way. The problem is that they want to make everyone as closed minded as them. Anyone that disagrees that some of the greatest right brain related happenings of human history (art, music, etc) came from people who were on various drugs is living an intense lie. Im no advocate for drugs, but i do keep an even out look on life. Imho it's healthier than living such a restricted and stressful life like so many.

Just create your own belief and opinion, and let live. Intolerance is not a good thing fyi. In some and few cases it is ok to be intolerant (rape, molestation, killing etc.) but i guess im a hypocrite, because i personally am intolerant of intolerance.
