Remote

Hi!
I just joined xr and im hoping someone can give me some info.
I'm going to install a remote starter. One problem, no remote starter
company lists a x-runner. Should i follow the basic wiring for a tacoma?
If anyone can get me wiring that would be awesome.

i would just guess u cant find the info cuz the x is a standard ...and the companies dont want to be liable for selling a kit for a car that can be started in gear which could cause some problems

Don't know alot about remote starts but im pretty sure your wiring will be different for your truck than a reg. taco. due to it being a manual trans and you have a clutch switch that has to be pressed before it will start. Actaully that wasnt that bad. Works fine and whats really cool is that since there is no module on trunk release you can problem it to open your power windows with a push of a button. Hahaha freaked out ppl on the street thought it was a drive by. Haha poor guys.

Oh ya, and dont worry even though it a manual, putting it in reservation mode or ready mode (as the manufactors like to call it) is the only way it will start, so idealy there is no way to leave the truck in gear!

you can also hook the nuetral safety switch wire up to the ebrake so the truck will not start unless the e brake is activated.

I had an older compustar remote for the time being. I want the new compu coming out in mid 07. Sorry i dont have any install pics but i can get you some if you wish.
