i know a lot of us have HID's, but do any of you have projectors? i know it makes a big difference. I have HID's in the low beams and fogs yet my friends single pair retrofitted to a tsx projector bulb is way brighter. (TSX has one of the best projector bulbs by the way) I know the new 4runners have projectors and their headlights are very similar to ours, does anybody here have the retrofitting know how and balls to try to do a retrofit ?

I don't think anyone on XR-U has them, but on CT a few guys had them. Eyevan and onestocktaco had done retrofits on their lights and they turned out pretty well. You know they sell replacement headlights with projectors right?

A couple of people have done it already. Check this thread for more.

That's the photoshop Eyevan did of his truck before doing the install. In that same post will be the actual picture of the completed retro. It wasn't too far off from this photoshopped picture.

i know they have a housing with a retrofitted projector already, and i've seen the other ones already, but they are all ugly, at least in my opinion, the one on a 4runner looks cleaner and it looks stock not home made so i was wondering if anyone with headlight know how was down to try it.

Are you wanting to put the 4Runner headlights on an X?? They are a completely different shape and wouldn't fit without some major fabrication.

They aren't mine they are Eyevans. He later went and adapted TL projectors and fiberglassed the headlights.

I think so. Now why can't we get an aftermarket company produce headlights like those instead of the nasty ricer projectors:dontknow:

Maybe someone should send a pic of that headlight to a company. Im sure it wouldn't cost the company lots of money to do it since the idea and the design is right there.
