s10 xtreme

So i just finished arguing with my friend about these "sport" trucks....what makes them "xtreme"? Other than a body kit and rims?

He actually thinks that they are better than a XR in drag racing and handling...somehow i dont see that
happening...:stupid: He claims they have different gearing and suspension, and some how that will better an XR?


He also thinks that an XR is just a V6, speed, Tacoma ...with body kit and rims...Unless im missing something, X-runners weigh like 600lbs less than a typicall pre-runner, v6, 6speed...Cause they use the normal 4cyl taco underpinnings...Right?

Also does anybody have any videos of s-10 extremes drag racing? Like 1/4 mile times...etc... Maybe a video of one getting destroyed by an XR? :top: Any info on these things would be nice...cause i really don't know shit about them...

Has anybody actually raced one of these, or maybe one of the newer Colorado's Xtreme?

Either one it's bad news. Even supercharged the xtremes get ripped to shreds when we are n/a. The xtreme has the 4.3 liter v6 but only puts out about 180 hp out the crank.... give it that it has about 240 tq but still..... the only thing that is xtreme about it is the fact that it is xtremely slow.... :laugh:

i have an xr and have had a colorado extreme...as far as power and suspension wise...the xr is leaps and bounds better than the extreme...the only thing i like the collie better for is that it came with leather and sunroof...

I heard some where that stock 0-60 for and xtreme is over 10 seconds?!?!?!?!? wtf....my buddies 4clynder, auto, pre-runner will do that in 8....how the **** is that possible...it has 140hp.....:dontknow:

lol. nice tag. failure. It really is quite embarrassing when those guys try and race me. They all bow down after I beat them and ask if i'm boosted..... I just pretty much laugh at them and say it's only a 4.0 just to really let them know they aren't anything special.

i saw one place do a review on one. they only come in autos and you can not get them in single cab. they dyno'd in at 205hp/235tq to the wheels. And at $30k i could not justify spending it on a truck that would b worth 1/2 that after the very first year. Not to mention, at the time i was looking into getting one GM was throwing an Aveo in with every silverado purchase, and those only cost mid 20s

it's not about the HP that you have in the engine or at the wheels or even how much tq you have that's all great but you need to look at the pickup of the engine. if the motor can't bring up the rpm fast when you have it in gear then you won't speed up fast tg is just how much pull you can get out of it i know more tq means faster but the same is for HP but you can fix that with gearing. i've seen straight 4's that will hit 16k rpm in 1 second and just rip down the 1/4 mile the pick up is fast on the engine but not a lot of HP or tq i would find one and race it to see or find the stats on it

I had a 2003 Sonoma w/ the ZQ8 package (which is just 16" rims and a lower stance). Had the 4.3L V6, I had a power programmer and it made it quick but no where near my X. Have to say though I do miss the truck. This was when i was in my lowrider days.

When I first got my XRunner my mom saw and Extreme S10 and said it looked just like my X... I pulled over and told her to get out... lol She dont think they look alike anymore :top:
