Hello everyone! I am new to X-runner Underground.

Well recently(this past Sunday) my stock stereo stopped working. I turn my truck on to make a quick run to the market, when I turned on the truck the I turn on the stereo and it played music for about 3 or 4 seconds. After NO music, from the radio or cd player. When I got home from the market I took the unit part and made sure all the connections were on, I checked the fuse box; and nothing. The stereo turns on and you can change the cd's from 1 through 6, but I have no sound coming out. Don't know if the stereo is just dead and its time to replace. Any ideas? Any recommendations on stereo units that are compatible with the steering wheel control buttons/function?

*8 months ago the stereo unit will drop the radio station and I would get static. It did this for a couple times for a couple of days, afterwards it worked fine.

Thanks for the help

Sounds like it's beat, I'd just put in a new one. Pretty much any aftermarket stereo can keep your steering wheel controls, you just have to get an interface box for it. Metra makes one called the ASWC and PAC makes one as well but I'm not sure of the exact model number.

OP did you figure out what was wrong with the radio? Mine is still working fine but I'm thinking of upgrading soon. Just hope I don't run into any problems until I have the cash for the replacement.
