just wondering. i have a vacation place in Hot springs, NC. its not to far away. anyway when im not there i rent them out. (this aint a sales pitch) just wondering if anyones done it. im going in the spring. sounds like a good meet!!? i cant wait.

I have driven it once in my 3000gt i had... that place is awesom. I have alot of friends who go there on bikes. Im not that far from there, just let us know when your coming up and maybe we could arrange something.

Been there on my Bandit 1200, I'm wearing my Tail of the Dragon shirt in this pic. Possibly the most fun I've ever had. Riding it in the X would be fun but would rather do it on a bike. Last time I was there I saw a large group of S2000 owners tearin it up. My dad owns a motorcycle resort on the other end of the Cherohala Skyway, goodtimes:biggrin:

The place is legendary. Have never been there, but before I die......

The place is very nice though with all the deaths from idiots the place is a strip of revenue 318 turn in 11 miles long. If you take it at a pace and dont attack the road, it's cool. I rode it many times in the past, fast and slow. One thing I will say, once you ride/drive on a road course, roads like that dont have the thrill they used to.

I've been out there for the last two years with my VW club and we're going back this year in late July or August. Anyone is welcome to come out so if a few X-runner owners want to come out, you're more than welcome to. There's usually a good variety of cars outside of VW's including Toyotas, Mitsubishis, Audi, and Beemers. We rent a big cabin for the weekend and split it between everyone.

i say lets do it. even if only a few of us do it i would like to take some video of the X-R's representing.!! with my places and a few others around we can stay for cheap. i think im going to start planning. any one that might want to go say around june or so PM me so i have an idea for accomadations. ill post a plan when i get one:top:

I know what you're talking about, but I find that more true for sportbikes than cars. In the end I didn't even have a street bike...wasn't even worth the bother. However since then I have done some awesome roadtrips in my car (M3) all throughout the Sierras & other CA twisty areas & I'd have to say it was almost as much fun as tracking the bike...to put it another way:
bike: 10 on a sale of 1-10
car: 8.5
