Nah brother the reason I am asking is cause one person has hit the breaking point and is the hold up on his truck getting finished someone nobody likes on here but i wouldnt ask these questions for no reason just wanna see ya make it successful! Oh that person is now having a titanium crank custom made!

Ramon I would definetly talk this crank thing with apr. David was having a custom crank made I believe that's supposed to be stronger. May be something to look in to if ur gonna be pushing that much hp.

Cryogenic treated parts does wonder in term of durability. Don't know about custom Ti crank though, sound pretty far fetch. You have any idea how much a billet block of Ti would cost to make the crank? O_O
Girdled main bearings will strengthen bottom end and help keep from walking also.

Yeah that crank is gonna cost 4 grand... That is something that I will look into further down the road...

Cryogenic is actually what I am looking into right now actually. I just figured I would say hardening the crankshaft would be easier instead of people asking that cryo does.

Yes, we have 6 bolt mains.

Get all of your bearings coated as well.

I find it hard to believe that the crank made for the motor at APR is made out of titanium. That could be true, but that is just really damn expensive, even compared to a billet steel crank.

Thank you sir. So these bottom ends are pretty strong then.

Are you going to put the X on a diet? (Strip out all unnecessary weight?)

No sir... I can't.... Bed is light as it is... I've added a tonneau cover to the weight addition and may be looking into other things to add weight to the rear.

Well . . . its better than keep sayin' hardening like you're rubbin' Viagra on the stock crankshaft is gonna make a difference :rofl:

Theres a company out there that makes a water bag thats in the shape of the bed and you can adjust weight by the amount of water to put the hp where it needs to be.

Traction is going to be a major problem. Are you going to be running drag radials?

I agree with Ketchup; check with David of APR on what that crank can handle. Even the banned one isn't comfortable with our crank.

Well I know that there are two that have continuous run over the the amount of torque, on the crank, that APR was told was safe. Makes me wonder on the validity of the information that was told to him, which he then told to others.

Whoever that person was, they said only 450 or it will snap. Clearly that is untrue. As I have had two motors pushing out over 500 wheel torque, which means the crank torque was even higher. For quite a while on both motors. There is even another guy in his XR that is pushing over 600 wheel torque, and has been for a while now.

Keeping the rpm close to stock will net less stresses with boost, than increasing the rpm high above stock with boost. Point is, turn up the boost if you want more safe power. Not the rpm.
