Instead of blacking out my headights I tinted them using the smoked headlight protector. I thought they would be a little lighter tint than what it is.

Yeah, I close my garage to see how much it will effect the output by just having one side tinted so I can compare it with the side not tinted, it actually seemed to just take the glare off the lights. I will see if I get pulled over for not having bright enough lights. :dontknow:

i couldnt find a pic of a tacoma with them.

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=mppf&sbrftog=1&catref=C6&from=R10&mppfqy=headlight+covers&mppfqy=headlight+covers&satitle=undefined&sacat=6028%26catref%3DC6&fmmk=toyota&fmmd=tacoma&fylo=&fyhi=&mppfqy=headlight+covers&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=ZIP%2FPostal&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search

That's what I bought. you can get them in smoked, blue, yellow and clear. It's a thick film and you apply it like tint film. The only difference is that you can stretch this to go over curved areas by heating it up with a hair dryer. I got it for $50.00 headlight and foglights. I didn't do the fogs yet.

I don't know, it looks good because it's different, but just not my cup of tea. I like the blacked out headlight mod better

You Apply just like tinting your window. What's nice it comes off easy. Just peel it off.

Yea, I agree with you on the blacked out mod. But in my opinion the blackout mod looks the best on the Black XR's. For me I like to do mods that I can easily go back to the OEM look. Especially like this mod I did.

I believe it's the same stuff. I got mine at Stickercity.com which they also sell the tailight film kits. It's really easy to install. Just like tinting windows. spray some water and rubbing alcohol solution on both surfaces making sure the film is aligned then squeegee all the solution out and heat areas that are curved you need to stretch the film to fit over.( most time consuming part)

Looks great. Good thinking too - you can go back to the oem look alot easier than the BHM..... :top: But once you go black - you will never want to go back. To the oem look that is...
