Absolutely. You need to have a box closest to specs as possible bro.

.05 - What happens if the box is too large?
Typically the low frequency extension of the system improves a little, at the expense of powerhandling. The bass will also sound tighter and "drier", which might not suit your listening tastes. In the case of vented systems, a too-large box may introduce a response peak around the the resonance frequency of the system.

what does the last line mean?

i think it means that you will hear air noise? I know if boxes arent built correcty and ports arent tuned right it creates that nasty (port noise)/air noise

i think fiberfill actually acts as something to make the box act as an even bigger box. It effectively slows down the waves, im pretty sure fiber fill is used in small boxes for "bigger" sound. So yea, if you were to do that in a already too big box then i think it'd really •XR•XR•XR•XR things up.

Ah yes the ol port. I purposely made a small port and box so that the air would really have to force through, so the power handling would stay in tact and the SQ would still be there. It sounds awesome.

well...mines is alittle bit bigger and it sounds just fine...but not much bigger than recommended...cause if you go too big, it can really sound crappy.

Stuffing does make the airspace act bigger, Tight sealed boxes require more power to create higher db. Sealed is the most accurate bass, but you must come close to the subs specs for proper performance. Sealed enclosures are the best! Unless you have cheap subs or like muddy distorted bass...in some cases a port is ok, Banpass is garbage. If you like banpass, I thank god you dont have a trunk to rattle....

In the most simplest way I can describe, this means that you're going to get some sort of delay on the sub hit.

This is why I think this is: In a smaller box, the air and frequency waves hit the edge of the box, and vibrate at a ceritan MS. If a box is larger, it'll take a bit longer for the sub to create enough vibration and enough frequency response for the sound wave, and air to hit the box. Thus creating a increased MS response.

Though I could be speaking out of my butt hole. Correct me if I'm wrong, somebody.
