Hey guys, I got a dilemma... I'll start with the background info.

Basically, when I bought my X, there was a combination of:
1. apprehension (cuz I wasn't sure if I wanted to hold out for the BSP)
2. irritability (cuz I was missing the freakin Super Bowl)
3. I don't know what to call it, but I was trying to hide my giddyness from the salesperson

Because of this combination of awkward emotions, I forgot had just graduated from college a little over a year ago and neglected to bring up the college grad program in my negotiations. :frown: :banghead:

So I called Toyota Financial, they said they couldn't do anything. I called the customer service at the dealer, they said I was S.O.L. as well. So just when I was starting to believe I screwed myself out of 400 bux, I decided to give the sales manager a shot. (The guy that sold me the car quit, lol, so I went to the manager of his department.)

Anyway, to make an already long story not as long as it could be, I now have a credit to the parts department at Toyota for $350.

I dunno what I should get :dontknow:

This'll be my very first mod, and I'm not really a big TRD fan, but since I got the free money, why not?

So what do you guys suggest:questionmark: If all else fails, I could just get a homelink mirror and get that big ugly garage opener outta my truck...

TRD Short Shifter would be my pick. You don't realize how LOOOOOOOOOONG that throw is until you shorten it by an inch or so.

Exactly... stoopid liars. :eviltongue:

These were actually 2 of my first 3 choices, along with a CAI, but I'm already planning on getting my interior decked out, so I don't think I want the covers. I guess it's a toss-up between the s/s and CAI :dontknow:

Since the cashier person happens to not be a girl  , I went the business card route instead

:hahaha: It was funny how the salesperson thought the whole conversation I had with the parts guy was a different language. He had no idea what a s/s is, nor a CAI, catback... anything. You guys shoulda seen the look on his face.

Now why is it that not a single person in the Toyota Service department knew how much labor they charge to install a s/s? Most of them didn't even know that the heck it is... :stupid:

With that being said... did any of you guys do the TRD s/s install yourselves? How difficult is it? Even a link to a write-up would help.

Or Spyder327?

I would go with the TRD S/S. It makes a big difference and is the best TRD modification out there at this point. Since I have the S/S, I would personally choose the TRD CAI. I really want one since I heard many good things about it

Ok, I'm now up to 85% sure I want the s/s.

The budget conscious part of me wanted to get the CAI and just buy the s/s from URD (since it costs WAY less and gets great reviews), but I won't be buying any parts for a few months or so and I'd much rather have a s/s now over an intake, so....

I'm almost sure, lol :rolleyez:
