I dont think it was a waste, how many people do you know who are running Flowmasters,Magnaflow or Borla ? Not only does it sound and look great but how many people do you know who took the chance to do something different and put a TRD exhaust on that doesnt list the XRunner as one of their applications ? Be different ! stand out of the crowd, not in it, thats what customizing is about isnt it ? :top:
No I understand you totally but I said that because there is another thread on here that said the TRD exhaust system already comes on the X but it just has a different tip. That's what I thought...?:hmmmm2:

Hehe, nah, Like Rossk35 said, Our XRunners comes with a different exhaust from the other Tacomas but the TRD exhaust you can purchase is totally different :top:

Our exhaust has a lower tone compared to other Tacomas. The TRD exhaust is the "sport" version of the stock exhaust for Tacoma and is compatible with our X-runners. It sounds good though. I rode in Shook's truck

$380 for the exhaust isnt that bad, i dont remember the price exactly but it was under $400.. as for the intake and shortshifter you can get those at www.Toyotaterritory.com, i think they got the shortshifter for about $350 ?.. and the intake was about $340 :top:

Not really, unless you are going the f/i route.

i dunno what you're refering to, but all i know is that with a magnaflow catback, intake, ypipe, psc1 and a prof. tune ive gotten roughly 40 more rwhp than stock...so you can choose what you want to do. 249.8 rwhp vs. 207 rwhp

Its not made for the XRunner, its the exact same exhaust for the extended cab Tacoma except the tip isnt designed to stick out pass the bodykit, all i did was take it to a friend and have him extend the tip out 3.5inches to clear the body kit and show off the pretty tip with engraved TRD logo :top:

shook, went down today to the warehouse and showed me this same catalog is it the second to the last one #PT910-89061, if thats the one why is its expensive, its 518.32 total +tax

Are there any real performance gains from the exhaust?
I bought my dad a 2007 Doublecab shortbed 4x4 with the TRD package on it. I figured he didn't need the TRD exhaust and swapped it with my X. It fits but the tip is about 3 inches short, thus not showing... that can be fixed.
There were pros and cons...
Pros - sounds very agressive pass the 2.5k rpm, but quiet when needs to be.
Cons - I don't have any numbers, but I think the low end torque decreased. I feel like i have to floor it more to get it to pull. I don't have any mods except for this. I've searched and found out that the stock piping is a 2.5 diameter, while this trd is 3 meaning less restriction on the flow thus less torque. So unless u're going to SC or turbo it, i'm thinking that sticking with a 2.5 piping and changing the muffler for sound is good enough.

Here's something from Gadget:

To clear up an ongoing misconception, an Otto cycle engine does not need back pressure. Putting a larger diameter exhaust flowing the same exhaust volume decreases flow velocity. When velocity drops pressure INCREASES, it does not decrease. When pressure increases in the exhaust it is harder for the engine to push the exhaust out and that kills power. Generally this is all exactly oposite of what people think when they say you will loose back pressure. You may be increasing it with a larger exhaust in low flow conditions. You can do a search on the other forums where I have gone into much more detail on flow dynamics of exhaust systems.

The URD 3" Stainless Cat-Back was designed to work with our supercharger systems and it does that very well. I did have some concerns that it may not work as well with a N/A engine. That is one of the reasons I unistalled the supercharger system from my truck so I could do some testing and see any benifits or decreases.

As you can see from the dyno chart, there are no losses at all with that combination. There is one spot in the graph it is pretty much dead even in the lower RPMs, and the rest is all gains.

Im not sure what the part number was, I forget lol :ahhhhh: but the price I got it at was a hooked price :top:

Cool to see more and more people getting this exhaust fitted to their XRunners ! lol :top:
