On my way home from work tonight about 5:45
and a I see a black TRD Sport in my rearview.
at first glance I saw the hood scoop and
thought it was a raised XR.

I was cruising about 70mph and he got on my tail
like I was in his way
making play I guess. Then he pulled around past me and
kept going. (Brand new dealer plates)

There was alot of traffic plus I don't
race on freeway, too dangerous IMO

But has anyone raced a TRD Sport
or Pre Runner with a 4.0 liter six speed?
Just curious

they rarely make normal Tacoma 4.0 liter TRD 6 speed Manual.
its a custom request that you have to tell the Toyota dealer.

and its not even worth it.. like 4 grand extra

Yeah, I test drove two different ones at two different dealers
here in Orange County.

I only test drove them because there was no XR's to test
drive. I wanted to see how the six speed was.

Anyone race a 4.0 liter with an auto trans?

This should give you an idea, auto trans. at 10ft above sea level, with minor traction issues w/ overdrive off. Manually shifting will improve this a bit. You should put about a car length till 90 and the distancew will increase as you accelerate.

Yeah those TRD sports are fast. Would have been my second choice behind the X, except the handling was the major issue for me

Thanks:top:

I needed a truck that is higher up for work, so that beds will line up with other trucks and cargo can be slid from truck to truck. I would have an X otherwise, I still may get one hahahah.

I only got one run in and wasn't ready when the tree went so I just floored it causing my traction problem. If I manually shift it I can hold my gears longer, so my time will improve. This will give the X a closer run, but like I said aerodynamics will dictate who will win and the twisties, ahhhh, forget about it. The X would eat me alive.

How was that H3 Ride the other night! :top: I topped out at about 120-130 that night. My needle was at the far right and I was still going faster. :top:
