Does it matter

I'm not sure it matters. I have the TRD and it installed in a breeze. The results are stunning. If you don't have a short shifter, you are missing out. I love my TRD and was going to get the URD. Just bought my wife a 4Runner Limited and negoiated the TRD CAI and Short Shifter for 150.00 each. So the price was right and the quality was right. Just get one, you love em!!!!!

Ive been using a urd, upon install it felt weird, getting into reverse was tough, It broke in and then my stick started rattleing, I think that the right stuff mod will be on the agenda. It does fix the stock throw for sure but I wish I knew about the rattle fix before my rubber broke! I dont attribute the the SS as the cause I think that stick fails in all tacos...but dont quote me..
