Turbo guys-need advice

Anybody out there that is turboed: What rpm are you guys spooling at and when do you make full boost? What psi are you currently running? What if any problems have you encountered? What ems are you running? What are HP goals on stock internals? Just trying to get a grasp of what and why you guys chose what you did?

If i remember correctly..

Heloboy's turbo setup hits 8psi at like 2800rpm (daily driven). Pushed up to 12psi at times.
Should be well over 400rwhp. Only problem i can remember his the POS clutch these things came with, but he replaced it with the clutch C2C is coming out with.

Thanks spyder, hows the urd kit working out for you? any traction problems? I've been on the fence for too long with this

So far so good. Getting close to 10k miles with it and no problems at all.

Traction problems? lol you could say that, but then again, thats with stock tires. I have some upcoming mods going on in about a week, which includes a set of drag radials. Once i've got those, ill go to the track again and test the improvement.

My spring break ski trip plans fell through and my grandmother lives in florida???? I have off March 12-18, anybody going to xfestmicro that is going to have the URD kit? If so I may show up just for that LOL.

Yeah like to see that dyno. I've seen a vid of the engine bay:top: but I'd like to see something with daily driving with some hard accelerating. A vid of your run at the track when you get the tires or something would be cool. Just would like to see how it performs while driving.

It performs AMAZINGLY. If someone in AZ has a video camera and wants to go to the track with me in a few weeks ill get you that vid. I'll see if i can't find a camera myself also and have someone from another car film me on an access road or something.

I think Xrobber has some vids on youtube as well...

Just thought I'd chime in. I've had my setup together for almost 15k miles now. I'm running 3psi in 1st gear, 3-7psi in second, 7-10psi in third, and 10psi in the rest of the gears. I have my AVC-R set to ramp up boost now so I can keep traction (for the most part) through 3rd. My truck has seen 15psi on a few occasions. Still on the stock fuel pump running GReddy E-manage blue for tuning.

probably a stupid question but are you running a waste gate?

:top: Good to know the stock pump can keep up at 15psi
I'd love to see your setup next time I'm near Pensacola

probably a stupid question but are you running a waste gate?
yes, if you dont the boost would ramp up uncontrollably. The avc basically sets it.

Is it generally cheaper to run a turbo or supercharger? Anyone?

Depends on the parts used and the supporting mods you want to have, oh yeah and if you are doing it yourself or paying someone to install it. If you are paying someone I'd say a supercharger.
