recently i noticed that my afr's have been dipping into the 9's under boost. don't know why, but they used to stay in the mid to low 10's. today i hook up the laptop to go for a little tuning session to pull some of the fuel. start off with small changes in the map and get no improvement. so i go a little more and decrease the values by .5, still no improvement. then I decrease all cell values by 50%. After doing this twice with no improvement i reload the base map and come here for some help.

I am far from the base map which i ran for 8k miles without being this rich. anyone with some tuning experience know what may be causing my problems and why it seems changes to the fuel map aren't affecting my afrs.

thanks

Map A is for timing, Map B is for fuel...make sure you're using B.

PM me if you need more help on it.

DOH!!!
step 1 of tuning...make sure you are plugged into the correct box.

I just grabbed my serial cable and plugged it into the laptop thinking it was hooked to the AIC controller. its not...it was hooked to my MAF calabrator.

anyway thanks for the quick reply spyder any possibility i can take a look at what you ended up with for your fuel map

Yes i could tell you what i ended with for fuel. HOWEVER i'm running meth/water injection so mine should vary from yours.

Before you go adjusting anything, check your airfilter. Make sure it is installed correctly.

It must be on straight and out as far on the end of the pipe as possible. Some customers have stuffed the filter all the way down on the end of the pipe causing air to be accellerated over the MAF and choking off the air at the same time reducing power.
