Yeah that's what I'm talking about. I was going to tape off the upper corner bulb area and the inside blinker/running light area. Got any pics?:top:
Here ya go man, I taped off the blinker lense only and placed it back into the housing before I painted it. I didn't tape off the reflectors or the signal lights, just the turn signal and headlights have reflectors.

Hey thanks for the pics. Actually makes the lights brighter with the reflectors chrome. Exactly how I taped it too. Bet it was a PITA to tape the inside blinker, eh? I know I had a hard time. Will post pics when they're done. Thanks for the heads up.:top:

Im doing the same, only Im gonna smoke the blinker lense a little to make it less yellow.

I would mix some black toner in some clearcoat and spray it on. The more you spray, the darker the tint.:top:

I use a cardboard box

Yeah me too, but BE SURE TO REMOVE IT WHEN YOU TURN THE OVEN ON TO PREHEAT  I learned the hard way.. ended up with a blister the size of a 50 cent piece on my hand from running a firey piece of cardboard outside :argh:

Just a stupid mistake on my part :dontknow:

I really want to do this, but I'd be afraid to completely screw up my headlights. If I could find a extra set of mint headlights I'd give it a shot.

You can loosen up the glue by just using a blow dryer and a hot day. Thats what I use to do on my other cars. It takes longer but you dont have to stick your headlight in the oven that way.

When adding new silicone do apply the new silicone, assemble the entire headlight, and then put it in the oven and bake it? Or do I apply the new silicone, let it cure, and then bake it when the new •XR•XR•XR•XR has dried?

Also can some people post pictures of their headlights with this mod done. I haven't decided if I am putting the reflector and blinker lens back in yet. Id like to see the dif. ways it looks on the truck.

Thanks.

I would make sure its clear :top:

Thanks for the pictures; think im going with reflector out. When re-assembling and adding the new silicone what steps do I use?

I am still waiting for the paint to cure fully...

put them back in the oven and then push them back together after letting them bake for a couple of mins. After there back together run you a bead of silicone around the edges and your done. I didn't use any silicone on mine without any problems but some haven't been so lucky, so just to be safe i would run a bead around them :top:

put it back together just as u took it apart leaving it in the oven for a bit to get the adhesive nice and sticky then push the light back together as good as u can...then run a bead around the whole light...thats what i did and i havent had any fogging
