Just did this mod.. I love it, its so much nicer.. I did it a little different.. I took apart the relay and connected the two terminals then put it back together so u can't even tell it was ever apart..

I have had this mod done now for about a week and I am loving it so far. Now for the only down fall that I've found and I don't know if this was an 08 and newer thing or if all years do this, but if I leave my phone charger plugged in for a long time (like over night) the truck shuts off power to the cigarette outlets and they come right back on once I start the truck back up. So I don't think I have to worry about the phone charger draining my battery over any time. I have sat in the truck for a good period of time with the phone charger plugged in and the keys out of the ignition and it has continuously charged to no problems. Hope this helps everybody that is on the edge about doing this mod to go ahead and knock it out.

I just did it on mine. I soldered the connectors to the jumper wire because I'm not going to want to pull it apart to recrimp them. It took sometime to get the foot rest back on because it's pretty worn. Test, it works, nice.
