Write-Up: Louder Horn

Found this on CustomTacos and decided to try it out. Sorry no pics. There are 2 horns in the front of the vehicle behind the grille. (for those who don't know) On the opening of the horn are covers (plates). I just pushed in the center part and one side pops off, wiggle the other end off and try it out. It's like 10db louder. I'm pretty happy with it.:rock:

yeah i did the same thing when i put my grille on. its noticably louder.

When i relocated them for my grill i was even considering just leaving them off

It's for the temp. control. You know where the dome lights are inside...well apparently XR's can have them too and that connector is apparently for that.

It's for the compass with outside thermometer. And yes the covers are for the elements, but aftermarket ones don't have them.:dontknow: So I figured what the hell...

Yea you have two horns behind your grille... one of them has a deep tone and the other high pitched tone...Only one is hooked up... that other conector coming out of that wire harness is for the other horn... You can hook up both horns up at the same time to make it louder and also gives it a different tone... :top:

No, He's talking about the extra wire harness in the grill area. I found this wire dangling too. Both horns are hooked up with an extra wire harness. It's for an accessory temp sensor for the thermometer/compass.:top:

I was reading up on that mod too, but figured I live in Hawaii. Live Aloha! If someone pisses me off I just give them the one-finger salute

I just found this thread and did the mod...the very next day i tested it on one of my friends...lol....he almost fell over....i was laughing so hard....i think this is my favorite mod...lol :biggrin:

Thats correct, all your doing is removing a plate that helps to tone down the sound coming out of the trumpet. :top:
