X-FEST EAST Planning 2.0

Ladies and Gentlemen,
There's been a bit of change it plans. Unfortunately David may not be able to attend this year's event therefore this event is falling on my shoulders :ahhhhh: That being said, I'll start by apologizing to the southeastern crowd because the event will have to move north. If I'm going to plan it, I'm going to drive to it, and I'm going to max out around 12 hrs. I'd prefer to be closer to the 8 hr range but if we can get a better turnout I'll stretch it to 12. So this is where I need your help. I need event location suggestions, but they have to be within the 12 hr driving time from NORTHWOOD, NH. If you're local to your suggestion event planning help would also be greatly appreciated. I'm not going to have as much time as I'd like to commit to this so any help I can get will be great. So let's re-open the suggestion box and try to determine the location.

A few places that came to mind are:

Tannersville, PA (Poconos)
Camelback Mountain Resort (similar to Wisp from XFE '11)

Ocean City, MD
Oceanfront Type Event, boardwalk, amusement parks, and lots of karting locations

Finger Lakes Region in NY
Lake Resort Area

McHenry, MD
Wisp Resort

Atlantic City, NJ
The Trashy East Coast Sister to Las Vegas :rofl:


So let's get a few good locations nailed down so I can set up a poll and see where more interest/attendance leads us.

Finger lakes may lack fun activities, Watkins glen is near though.

Poconos have casinos with table games now.

Im all about throwin up a tent and camping, and ive never been to New York. or the east coast. ill make the 20 somthin hr drive.

Orly????? Hmmmm...

yup yup........free access to a couple boats for fishing and watersports of all types....would have to rent a jetski though i think its about 60 a day there. Watkins glen is also about 30mins from my place. A small little family operated gokart track down the street. There are also some nice wineries all over that area. Plus can park right on the beach.

If xru decided on the finger lakes area it would be a pretty perfect place to have a meet.:top:

when i drive there from houston i can usually get a little past louisville before needing to rest then make it to the lakehouse the next evening so 2 days about 26hrs.

O yes then u have Watkins glen state park. Then if u really want to the drag strip is like 1 1/2 hrs away
