I don't think you can trust anyone unless its official from Toyota in writing. Hasn't most dealers promised a TRD Supercharger for the last three years? They don't know shiz!

I don't think that is true...a friend just went to Toyota the other day and ordered one. They had several on the lot but not in the color he wanted. They had him put a $100 dollars down for paper work and said it will be put into production and should be on island in 3-4 months.

Intresting, the Xrunner is no longer a trim option on the Toyota website.

I find it hard to believe they would put however much amount of money into the development of the truck and the SEMA model only to run it for 3 years. Doesn't make good business sense to me. Then again, if it is true - thanks for making the value of my truck go up.

Unless that information came written from Toyota Corporate then to me it's not true. Dealers know just as much as we and a lot of the time less. They have no inside information on anything corporate Toyota is doing. They find out the same time we do.

Maybe they have stopped producing them and are just selling off what is already made. Thats why it would be still on their web-site. Sad though if its true.

She said she was 2 days out of training and had been told that they were no longer being made. I'm just posting what I was told, plus like K2 said makes it more unique. Look at this guys website under information, he says that they are only making 3500 units. http://www.bastosdesign.com/xr/

I just talked to the owner and GM of the dealership I have bought from for 25 years and I am afraid it is true. XR no mo. They were told the day that the new Tundra was released. Good thing is...the next generation and yes there will be a next gen, IS going to have a V-8 but as of now they are not sure if it will be the new Tacoma style or move up to the new Tundra. They said Toyota will announce within the next 30-45 days which way they are going and so forth. They want to be up, tooled and producing for 08 model year release.
Now I only hope Toychota does as planned, cuz as we all know they are famous for several mind changes along the way.:bird:

Just seems like a waste of money to me. For the price tag on the XR (which was VERY low) - to only produce 10,500 seems like the development and production of parts, molds, etc would be a waste. Hmmm.
