X-Runner RTR

So I have an app on my iPhone that has a bunch of automotive news. Under the Tacoma section of Toyota, they showed the X-Runner RTR concept that was unveiled at SEMA. Aside from it being an automatic, it was bad @$$. Supercharged 5.7 from the Tundra! But I'm putting this post under Ext. Mod because of how the RTR looked. They had the truck red with silver body kit parts and the top half from corner of headlight and up was silver too. Google it and see what I mean. So what I'm thinking of doing is taking off my body kit parts and painting them silver. But I just painted my billet grill black so silver wouldn't look right and I dont feel like doing a two-toned paint job anytime soon. But another thought is to find a BSP that's local and just trade body kit pieces. Ahem... Phat-Free... Care to do this? I know you're here at Ft Stewart

BTW, for all who are wondering, the engine and all went in with no fabrication of mounts, etc. The only thing that was modified was the wiring. Also, if you're all wondering, TRD still hasn't figured out the airbag solution for the TRD steering wheel. Also, was told how you can tell how to tell if your TRD steering wheel is a true JDM part. Haha!

Oh, and they are NOT gonna consider making the 5.7 an option. Just thought I'd shed more light on it. I found out a lot more about it, but I'm too lazy to post. Plus, I was honestly more impressed with the 2 Door, rear wheel drive, V8 Camry. That thing was SICK!!!

Here's your airbag fix Cuz! It's been around a long time and for sale.:top:

That will not work. It may work on Supra's and anything below 2004 model Tacoma's, but not the 2005 and up models. Trust me...

Also, if that was the solution, wouldn't you think TRD would have done it already for the TRD XR and the RTR?

The TRD X has this on it with a JDM TRD steering wheel.:top:

Nope! Wheel in the TRD X is not fully functional. Yes, you can put the wheel in the truck. It will work as a steering wheel, but airbag connectors are completely different. We asked about that. They admitted that the airbag is not functional cause the connections aren't the same. I'm not saying it's not possible, but you really don't want to mess with something like that.

Where there's a will there's a way and it's done all the time with no problems. :top:

Look below....nuff said.

And if you read above, I said that I'm sure it's possible...but I'm talking about the TRD X-Runner and The TRD RTR X-Runner. The airbags aren't functional. And how can everyone do it all the time when NO ONE has successfully installed a working airbag in their 2005 and up Tacoma. So showing pictures of the part in a TRD Steering wheel from another car doesn't help your case. When you buy a JDM TRD Steering wheel, and successfully install it in your XR, then I'll stop backing my case. But as of now, it's not fuctional.

Trd-x you sir are retarted and have no idea what your talking about. The airbags in the 05+ Tacoma use a dual stage setup whereas the supras and other Toyotas use a single stage. The harness you posted is for older cars, so you don't have to swap plugs. Two of my friends have the trd supra wheel one in an 04 Tacoma and the other in his 06 xr.

The 04 Tacoma has the airbag hooked up because he swapped the plug over. The 06 xr doesn't have it hooked up only because it uses 4 wires 2 for each stage and the supra has 2 wires for the single stage.

Could you figure it out probably, so don't say it's been done plenty.

V8 RWD Camry, aye :D

Interesting to hear, I heard there was another manufacturer trying to get into the V8 Supercar championship here, maybe this is a prototype of the platform to do it
