Well - it wasn't a race, because I know I would've been skooled. But a Yamaha sport bike turned onto a curvy road right in front of me yesterday. This is a short road here in town, but VERY twisty - perfect for the X.

There is a true chicaine (sp?), S-turn, and two back to back 90 degree sweeping turns. I wasn't looking at the speedo through the S-turns, more paying attention to potential on-coming traffic (because I wouldn't have pushed it if anyone was coming). But I hung behind him. Like I said, I know he wasn't GETTING on it, but still we were moving and I was sticking with him.

Through the two 90 degree turns I glanced at the speedo and we were doing 65-70.

After the last turn, I put my blinker on to turn into a neighborhood and he gave me a big :top: -- I flashed my lights to thank him for the run. Good times.

(Note: no oncoming traffic the entire time or else I wouldn't have screwed around like this. 2 lane road and the run was maybe 2 miles total.)

He might have been an experienced rider and could have pulled away if he wanted, but maybe he just liked having you stick with him

Sure you can, when a squid is riding. If it was someone who seriously knows how to ride, no way guys.

Yep, not even close. However there are a lot of squids on sportbikes...just look at their rear tire. It's flat in the middle & like new on the sides.

On a really bad road w/lots of bumps, potholes, and sand, then I'd take a good handling car over a bike.

I think that's exactly what he was doing. I have NO DOUBT that guy could've left me in a heartbeat. I think he was just impressed that I hung as well as I did in a truck.

A friend of mine (50 y/o woman, teaches MSF classes and rides track as well) was on the way to class taking the backroads. Rides up behind someone in a RX-8, he picks up the pace, she stays with him. He pulls into the class parking area and parks as she rides by. She had no idea that he was a student until he pulled in.

Right before class he mentions to the other students that someone was riding up on him on his way in. He picks up the pace and looks in the mirror and sees her riding with her left hand on her leg, sitting up like she was bored.
He says it kinda made his 'package' shrink a bit LOL!

lol why would he ever say that

Well, when you are 20ish driving your sports car, you think you own the road. When a 50 y/o woman looks bored following you...... your 'package' may shrink :adore:

I'm sure if I was riding my bike on backroads in Hi, I wouldn't be pushing it. But damn feels pretty good to follow a sport bike in any car. More so an X

I've had cars try to keep up with me in the curves. Its funny hearing their tires squeeling in curves and i have plenty left to go. lol
