Xrunner Sitting Unlevel

I purchased a 2011 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner last fall and received it the end of October 2010. Since shortly after receiving it I noticed that the truck did not appear to be sitting level. I looked at it and there is a noticeable lean to the front drivers side corner which I measured the distance between the bottom of the fender flairs to to top of the front tires to have a difference of almost 3/4".

I have taken it to Toyota three times since I purchased it and they have told me that it all measured out to within specifications for alignment and stance of chassis. The Service Center General Manager told me that it has been something he (and suggested Toyota) had recognized to occur frequently in the pre-runner and x-runner models since at least 2005. He also has a pre-runner and has the same problem.

My question is: has anyone else had this with their x-runner or none of this to be an issue?

Thanks.

I haven't noticed it on mine but now I'm curious. The beds on our trucks usually aren't lined up perfectly with the cabs either. Stand in the back of your truck and look down both sides and see if yours is off or not.

Sounds like Taco lean. But it's weird because some trucks get it and others don't

I think, a coil spring that as different compression or leaf spring with a different arch could cause that problem

My brother and I nothiced the same thing a couple years ago. Driver battery and fuel tank sit on the same side. If no driver and less than a 1/4 tank it is hardly noticable. We are looking at the moment of getting lowered spindles done. Around a 1" drop at most. Spindles are maxed out past that. We are in the process now. And will keep you guys updated.

That sounds like a sitin sic lean. The taco lean is stock. Drivers side sits low. Maybe you installed coils on the wrong side? Were they labeled?

Lowering an already un-level platform will still lower each side evenly for the amount desired. Meaning, it will still be lower on the driver side. Which it is

the taco lean is still gonna be there even if you have the sittin sic kit. I have the ss drop and still have my taco lean, I know others who also still have it.

This is not correct. If they are doing there coils correct the lean should of been addressed. We are addressing this with a coil/spindle drop at the moment.

I have had a sitting sic drop for awhile and I have not noticed a lean.

I do put my tool box on the passenger's side.

I have an older kit which still had the lean, I believe the new kits take care of this issue as the coils are no longer labeled side specific

now it sounds like it's been addressed

in the end it just comes down to the fact that each truck is different.

I went out and measured mine. It's the same on both sides.

I know a lot of people have this problem.
