Bugatti Veyron
"the most powerful, most expensive, and fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a proven top speed of over 400 km/h (407 km/h or 253 mph)"
"The Veyron features a W16 engine—16 cylinders in 4 banks of 4 cylinders."
"According to Volkswagen, the final production Veyron engine produces between 1020 and 1040 metric hp (1006 to 1026 SAE net hp), so the car will be advertised as producing "1001 horsepower" in both the US and European markets. This easily makes it the most powerful production road-car engine in history."

what about this baby: Less than a two months ago a small British car company represented its version of ultimate race car for the road drive based on Chevrolet V8 engine which provides 730 hp and entered the Guinness Book of World Records beating the Veyron’s time by five hundredths of a second. 720 GTR scorches from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, from 0 to 100 mph in 5.3 seconds, and brakes to 0 in 3.6 seconds (not including drivers reaction time). No traction control devices or ABS braking aids were used.

ariel.atom.f34.500.jpg

a SC Civic Type R engine pushing ~300bhp and weighing in at just 600 kg (1320 lbs). 0-60 in 2.7 sec, 0-100 in 6.9 sec... and its fuel efficient :p

considering what most cars go through in a police chase, non of these cars would be ideal.

as much fun as the TVR or the Ferraris would be, it probably wouldnt get you very far.

I have pondered many times about how my Rx7 would do in a police chase. But with its 16 gal fuel cell and almost 400hp and a turbo motor that runs rich. Going full out, I would have about 15-20min tops before I ran out of gas

what you really need is something strong and durable, with runflat tires and large gas tanks.

such as

Audi S8, Rs6
BMW M5
Mercedes something (not a fan of mercs, so I dont know which one)
Mercury Marauder ( then you have their car, plus a supercharger)

My taco.
