URGENT NOTICE - PLEASE READ IN FULL

Some of you may have received a PM from XR-Admin in the past week or so. Please disregard this PM. Due to the software upgrades for XRU 2.0, I am having to abandon the old donation system so I have installed a new system which I have been setting up and testing over the past week-ish. I did not send this PM and don't even know how it happened. Apparently it's some feature of this new system (which I now have to locate and disable) and it obviously ran after installation without my knowledge.

You guys know that I don't ask for donations here at XRU. This place is 100% free and always will be. You have no obligation at all to donate in order to use this forum. I appreciate every single donation that we do receive and guarantee that those funds go toward operating costs, events, free merchandise, etc.

I sincerely apologize for this PM being sent out and am remarkably embarassed that this even happened. Some people took great offense to "me" asking for money and rightfully so. Please understand that I did not do this, hence the reason it came from XR-Admin, the primary admin system account and also that I had no knowledge of it b/c the system sent it from that account and not me.

For those of you that did respond to this PM with a donation, I truly appreciate it but if you would like a refund of that money please just PM me and let me know. I'll be happy to refund it.

K2, I dont have any problem giving some funds to the site as long as I know they are going to good use and help keep the site alive. I feel that this place is what alot of us here call home. I dont want it going anywhere. I got an automated email after my last donation but didn't think anything of it. If it doesnt say K2, or any "friendlys" I just disregard it anyway. :top: Sorry that others may have gotten offended, but whats important is it has gotten caught and getting fixed. Way to stay on top of your game brother! :top:

UPDATE: This new system literally has hundreds of settings. It's much more powerful (and confusing) than the older donation system. I think I have found the setting to disable reminders indefinitely.

K2 is the man! When an owner/operater takes full responsibility for things, it really shows character. On that note this thread has caused me to wish to donate a bit more than I already have. I wish more forums and sites in general were run like XR-U. Great job K2 and keep up the good work:top:

Thanks - just seems like the right thing to do. I really feel horrible that people got this PM ASKING for money. I would never do that and I just don't want my reputation to be jeopardized by some silly system's automated BS.

I am actually very lucky that I even stumbled upon this. No one PM'ed me (on my K2 account). I was testing the donation system by donating to myself from another PayPal account and when I logged in to check the transaction PM, it wasn't there. So I thought it may have sent it to the primary XR-Admin account (userid 1). And when I logged in, I had a slew of PM's from people that had received that "reminder to donate." I actually broke out in a bit of sweat just b/c I was concerned about what damage had been done that I was not even aware of.

I appreciate everyone's understanding. Really.

WOW, got the response email from donating but never got the first email. Trust me Klint/K2 is the last person that would ask for money to run this site and because of that I will continue to donate
