On ESPN last week there was a power lifting show and Toyota was a sponser must have been in Japan and they were lifting brand new HILEX trucks and if this is going to be the USA TACOMA truck then there mean looking looks like a mini TUNDRA

IS A TUFF TRUCK....YOU KNOW FOR THOSE SUCKY ROADS IN CENTRAL AMERICA COUNTRIES YOU NEED SOMETHING LIKE THAT...:driver:

The HilUx is popular in S.America and in Australia, the Aussie TRD version is sweet, I think the Hilux is too much competition for the Tundra, so that's probably why it's not here in N.america, could be because smaller trucks are more popular in other countries because fuel costs are a lot higher, and big trucks wouldn't be very fuel effiecient so Toyota's answer is to mix the Tacoma and Tundra and come out with a Hilux, even though the Hilux has been around longer than Tacoma & Tundra.
Maybe 2013 Toyota will drop both the Taco & Tundra and have Hilux, but so far these trucks (Taco & Tundra) are big sellers here so that could be unlikely.

We have a bunch of Hiluxes over here and let me tell you..
The XR is just soooo much sweeter, better to drive on the street and a helluva lot better lookin imo..
Hope 2011 is a redesign not just bringing the hilux to US..

You guys really don't want a '09 or '10 model.
No LSD, Crappy sounds system, ESP is always pissing you off...
I have a '09 and knowing what i know now, i would have purchased a '08 used.
The only 2 very good improvements are the back-up cam and the MP3/WMA cd player.
the rear subwoofer is crappy, the roof speakers are useless, the "tweeter like" spots in the doors are not tweeter but 2.5" speakers...
They sould have only installed 2 6X9 and a pair of tweeter of good quality and the sound system would have been a lot better.

well, it's an AUTO LSD' let's see why it is so crappy.
1st, for the auto LSD to work, the traction control must be ON or partially off. If you turn the traction control totally off, you have a "one wheel wondering truck"
so, if the T/C is on, you just can't punch the 1st gear or it'll always be on.
if it's partially off, you can punch the 1st gear, and the auto LSD will do it's job. But who want brakes to be applied when you're hardly accelerating???
Then, in 1st gear you can reach 55km/h, traction control on partial off starts working at 50km/h. so if you're doing a powerslide or a big burn, once you reach the magic number, the truck dies.
Also, if it's partially off, you're getting into a hard curve and you'd like to powerslide it or drift it, forget it, the damn ESP will hold the truck.
The only way to have fun is when it,s totally off but hey, 270lbs/ft of torque on 1 wheel...
Same thing happens in winter but worse. Let's say you're stuck, you're trying to move slowly but the wheel spins, then the brakes apply to make the other wheel move. But how the truck is supposed to move when this stupid auto LSD is appling the F)!(@&ing brakes on the wheels? so you're still stuck, but using your other wheel.
1 good thing this thing do is when you're moving. When you're rolling in heavy snow or slippery terrain, the auto LSD do a good job, as long as you move. also, if you're not on a very very slippery terrain, like when you're trying to take your boat out of water, it does again a good job.
Then, there's the subwoofer. How can you tell your friends or step brother that the X-Runner is a serious truck with great handling when they see this big plastic box with a stupid LED light in the center... Come on toyota, this truck kick butts, it's not a ricer truck damn it!
This subwoofer looks SO ridiculous I'm wondering if it's because of it if my paint seems to want to run away from the truck (OEM red paint sux)
But forgive me, I love my X-runner and would buy another one tomorrow, the MAIN problem of it is that it should have the TRD blower installed factory.

Okay.
Auto LSD isn't as good a proper LSD & the subwoof aka flux Capacitor is 100% Fugly! (my next mod is too replace it!)

:hmmmm2:what they need for the 2010-2011 is stock height droped to 3'' lower,give it a stock turbo or a super charger,better brake system,so we don't have to do it...don't fck wit the sound system...halo head lights/better tail lights..better grounds...blacked out interior...leather seats...larger rims..an take out that lsd bullsheeit...:rockon:i have a 09 an tryd doin so tail wipin' an a beppin' noise went off.. an my truck stoped itself...tryd to burn out an my truck wanted to die out...gay-sh*t toyota....:thumpdown:...hope it would be about 30,000 ,or maybe less.....all i know is i would work my ass off for it...:adore:woulden't mind a two door neither...but thats jus me...:wink:
